Hello. My woman and I were already paying off a broken lease. Then the debt went to a third party called Professional Debt Mediation Inc. They arent crediting the amounts we already paid to the owed debt. I have receipts and bank statements showing we were paying. What do we do please?

I asked for verification of 3 debts with the same debt collector, all they responded with was a form letter with a rubber stamp thats says its verified and owing. However they haven't sent any verification and the letter was only for 1debt and states it is now there debt and i no longer owe the original creditor. The original creditor also put it on my credit report that it was charged off. How should i proceed to get these issues taken care of?

Thank you. Hospital bill in collections. If correct, the hospital had a clause put in to allow release of private hippa info to be released to a third party collector. They sent me an FULLY ITEMIZED STATEMENT. BUT NEVER RESPONDED TO MY REQUEST YO VERIFY I HAVE A DEBT WITH THEM. The itemized statement shows close to $2k in double charges on the bill. I got a phone call from a number out of Indiana saying that this is April and their office has been retained to do an address verification and when I read that voicemail I was like hmm 🤔 something sounds fishy here so me not giving two you know what called back and they said that this reference is for my name and to verify press the last two of your social security numbers and of course I did and then it finally rings and some shmuck answers the phone after hearing there greeting and he also asked to verify the last two of my social and said that this call is being recorded and anything that I say can and will be used against me in court and that I’m being served legal documents at my place of residence which I haven’t lived there in over three years and I was like mhmm and I told him that you’re being audio recorded as well and he said well you don’t have my consent and I said well that’s too damn bad you’re wife doesn’t have consent to blow me but she tries to all the time. They finally transferred me to that April and she said that I never paid back a payday loan from 13 years ago and I’m like ok yeah go scam someone else you fucking clowns.

What if on one of the papers they sent back says that the debt was sold to the debt collector?

Hit the collection agency with a CFPB complaint after the first round, if they do not comply with your request. Request to see the un-redacted contract and hit them with an FTC and CFPB again if they refuse to provide and they’ll stop.

In principle, I agree with the advice throughout this video. I don't understand the justice system in America, but I suppose the principle is the same. If you use the debt collection agency, then you're into a contract that is agreed on their extortionate fees and charges. The British courts don't look favourable on things like mail order, credit that is outside the interest rate, and that why they can have higher interest rates. They. take a dim look on anything that has used high-pressure sale tactics or cold calling. The thing that has changed here is that they can use their own administration to speed up the small claims court and can either settle in the courts or make a defence. I'm commenting because they are sending out similar stuff that really looks like the USA system!!! The only debt here that can attach earnings is council tax and the inland revenue. All I'm saying are that they are paralegals that look to infringement rather than real legitimate, and that is how they operate. So, it's the peoples vulnerability that they are using. Question. So I have a collections account but the issue is I entered into a contract under specific terms and agreements. They did not send the item I agreed to They sent something else. So I didn't use it and refused to pay. Now it's in collections.

It’s insane that the original creditor can write the debt off, receive a tax deduction and then sell that debt to a third party collector for the amount that was written off as bad debt!?!?

He has no idea how the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act works, and following this guy's advice will buy you a lawsuit. The standard of proof for verification of a debt is not the same as the standard of proof for a lawsuit. Generally speaking, you, as a debtor, know whether or not you owe the dough. You cannot lie to the court when you get there, and if you play these games, the judge will think you are a wise guy. This is bad advice in my opinion. Follow it at your own risk.

Thank you for the information . I am currently challenging a collection agency for a debt written off as bad debt. (storage facility ). As you have said, their validation letter was the original contract and a receipt of charges that states the debt was written off. Contents were sold at auction. Do I mention that the original debt was written off in my response to their validation letter?

Amsher collections sent me a validation of my debt from CITI bank that i owe over $600 and they sent me bank statement and my signature on an original document. But no where on it was the collection companies name. I am going to try these instructions layed out on this video. Thank you again.

I tried closing an account with eHarmony at end of one subscription dt it being worthless. After doing that I would back out of the website and try unsubscribing, then it would resubscribe me automaticly. After doing this for weeks, I just started deleting emails. This was in 2019. By 2020, a new automated subscription started without my authorization, so I once again went into the website, which still had not undone my account and I left a complaint letter telling how hard it is to understand how to delete it and could they please do it. I never had any luck. But I started receiving collections letters about every 6 months which I put in the trash. The amount was $300 something. It was wrongly charged so I continued ignoring. I am not sure what I should do but it was turned over to RFGI
