Did you have to put a vacuum on the refrigerant lines when you installed them?
@TwoAcreHomestead

Nope, this system is pre-charged and the lines are shipped sealed and already holding a vacuum. Just hook everything up and release the freon and its good to go.

@@TwoAcreHomestead how does it hold the vacuum in the lines when you take the Plastic caps off , we're installing the 2 zone model
@TwoAcreHomestead
@TwoAcreHomestead 7 күн бұрын
It was a few years ago when I installed this, but I believe there is a thin metal seal at the connection for the lines that gets punctured when you tighten them into place. Edit: I can not be certain that the system you are installing does not require the lines to be vacuumed. I can only speak for this system that I installed.

I've been watching a few videos now of this gas can spout and it seems the spout is decent but needs a locking mechanism so you can take your hand off the spout to steady that 5 gallon can. Maybe not needed on the small lawn mower gas can but that big one is awkward. Thanks for the real time video. Wish I could just pop that red button and it would release. Thanks for the fix. Maybe use a duplex nail so you have a little handle.

@TwoAcreHomestead
@TwoAcreHomestead 19 күн бұрын
Sorry about that. I have gotten a microphone since uploading this video last summer. The main hassle was getting the siphon hose over the lip in the gas tank, cutting the end so it was pointed helped. I also ended up using part of an old Kerosene heater fill hand pump as a sleeve over the soft rubber hose to be able to give it a bit more of a push to get it over the lip. Hope this helps.

Unfortunately those of us in the military had no damn choice on the matter. It was lose 8 years of working to get where I’m at now, or get other-than-Honorably discharged. Infuriating. I hope in time it goes away, but doubt it. Kind of accepted the fact that my life-span probably decreased by 20 years.

How long will it run a cpap machine
@TwoAcreHomestead
@TwoAcreHomestead Ай бұрын
That would depend on the wattage of the machine, the amp hour rating of the battery, the efficiency of the inverter and other factors. Too many variables to give you an exact answer, but I would GUESS more than 12 hours of use on a 6AH battery should be expected. Per Google: "On average, CPAP machines use 30-60 watts" I did misspeak in this video, I tested it on my wife's Nebulizer and it worked fine, she does not have a CPAP. If anyone has real world numbers on a CPAP, please share.

I have an issue, I installed mine yesterday and when releasing the refrigerant there was a pretty bad leak and I took way too long to close it up, about 30 seconds. A lot of refrigerant was lost in that time, the lower valve seems to still release refrigerant unlike the top one. It’s not blowing cold air now. can it still work with one valve or is it possible most of the refrigerant leaked out and thats why its not cooling ? Also I’ve heard people say close the valve after a few seconds of releasing gas and seen others who don’t, does it matter ?
@TwoAcreHomestead
@TwoAcreHomestead Ай бұрын
Do Not Run The System. You will damage the compressor if you are running with that much freon missing. 30 seconds is enough time to leak almost all of the freon. Call a local HVAC tech and have them recharge your system. Also, you need to leave the valves open after releasing the freon, running with either valve closed will damage your system.

What the hell kind of well do you have… like to drinking? That is horrible and something is wrong. You need to get your well way way deeper if that is what you have lol
@TwoAcreHomestead
@TwoAcreHomestead 2 ай бұрын
The well is very deep, and yes its for drinking and watering the garden. We are on public water also, this well is just for 'emergency backup'. The well was abandoned for about 60 years, and a layer of rust built up on the steel casing, a lot of the rust has been flushed out, and the 'marble torpedo' (see video) is doing its job to prevent more from happening. This video was very early on in the well project, I now let it run for about 15 minutes to ensure the water is coming out clean, it was taking over 45 minutes when I first got the pump working. The pump is only about 75 deep in a 400 foot well, its a cheap 12 volt pump that is only rated for 100 foot of lift, eventually I'll drop a better pump down there. I have a full Well Project playlist if you are interested in seeing more.

I have really liked mine (same model as yours), but now that it is 100 degrees outside, it keeps overheating and shutting down. The batteries show plenty of charge left. Normally, I'd just wait until the temps drop, but they're not going to, and i have to go out of town, so my lawn will be a jungle if I don't cut it. Never had this issue with a gas mower.
@TwoAcreHomestead
@TwoAcreHomestead 2 ай бұрын
I haven't had that problem, but I've also not been motivated enough to mow the yard in 100 degree temps. High 80's to low 90's is about as hot as I've used this mower. I have noticed a pretty hot battery when doing hard mowing in high temps, but it never shut down. Have you tried swapping batteries, letting one cool down while you use a second one? My guess would be the battery is overheating and not the motor, but that's just a guess. Other than mowing at night, not sure what else to suggest. Let me know if you find a solution. Thanks for the info.

I'd love to make this channel a viable source of income, but $40 a month in ad revenue isn't going to get me thru the summer. Plus being a one person operated channel has it's challenges. During my month off I was to busy working on projects that had been stacking up to even do many videos. Finally replaced the bad wheel bearing, rotor and brake caliper in the Dodge, wired up new LED, lights for the garage, finished off the bathroom / laundry room 'remodel', and basically a lot of not video worthy drudge work that had been piling up. We've had two 5 gallon buckets sitting on our kitchen table for about 5 years catching drips, recently water started coming thru above the cabinets near the fridge and starting causing significant damage. Seeing how there was no way I was going to save enough working at 'CHS' to get a new roof, the only option was to cash in the 401k, and the only way to do that was to quit. Over 55 so no 10% penalty, but Fidelity took over $6500 in taxes which I should be able to recover next spring. That left about 20k to become 'Debt Free' and get the roof done. At least I can now take a lower stress job for less pay, and still have more cash left at the end of the month than I did before. Great hearing from you again, hope all is well, eb

So are the white plastic barrels the exact same as the blue barrels? Only difference is the colors? Theyre the same thickness, sturdiness, an UV protected?
@TwoAcreHomestead
@TwoAcreHomestead 2 ай бұрын
I'm not an expert in plastics or barrels. My concern with this one was the ability to clean all of the chemical that it held properly so I wouldn't poison my chickens. I ended up buying a Rubbermaid Brute food safe trash can for the project. I would assume that the white translucent barrels are less UV blocking than the blue ones. For the plastic they are made of, there is a code stamp that looks like a recycling symbol with a number in the middle that can be used to look up what materiel the barrel is made of.

This was the first test run and was done on compacted fill with a ton of rocks in it. I have other videos using it in the garden area where I used it to break hard clay and it worked fine. It was a struggle with all the vines and other stuff, but once all that was broken thru it worked fine every season since to till the garden. I'm not going to say tilling is fun or easy, but this one works fine and was a great deal for what I paid for it.
