Thats great to hear bro, Luna my oldest was so unbelieveble scared of fireworks. She even tried to hide under cars. Yesterday and the day before were a hell for her. Today it was quiet again and I noticed she was pretty happy again, what also made me happy. A unhappy pet is a hearthbreaker.

I gues they dont need a reason to dig. I think its just playful, keeping themselves busy. My 2 dogos do the same, but than with soil
@pablosdadАй бұрын
But they don't do this when it's just soil and not snow. Sometimes when they are digging in the snow I would find them with a frozen frog or mice in their mouth

@@pablosdadI see, than that is what they are looking for. Maybe my dogs smell something they like and also try to search for it. When they dig I always check to see if they really find something. @pablosdad2 ай бұрын
Yes huge difference in size
@antasticmessors60732 ай бұрын
Thats why I have females. Males look better. But to when you want the best combo is the best to have both genders. Btw, something terrible happened at the breeders house. They had to put down the mother of my 8 month dogo who attacked the woman of the breedee because she was punishing her or correcting bad behaviour. I think the dogo was frustraded because of not enough exercise/movement and on top that she didnt tolerate the ladies dominance. I guess they mostly had them as backyard dogs. And not a backyard you got. Its maybe 10 by 20 yards. So challenging and exercise them really is important
@pablosdad2 ай бұрын
That is sad to hear. I hope the lady didn't use physical violence to correct her because that would surely trigger a Dogo Argentino. And as you mentioned with limited space and no way to exercise or take out her energy, it made the situation even worse

Bro, if I were you I would get a bicycle. Your dogos will love it and you are capable to make more miles with less effort and time. If you only take them once or twice a week for 20 or 30 min max. This way youll get nice athletic/muscular dogos.

Bro Id like to ask you something. You had your dogos sinds they were 12 weeks right? Did they argui about toys or food/bones? And if so what did you do? We bought our second dogo female puppy from the same breeder and the oldest is 7 months and the youngest 10 weeks. When we brought her in, the 7 month right away behaved dominant and snapped at the 10 weeks, but the 10 weeks didnt react and did nothing wrong to start with. Maybe 30 min later, the 7 months had a ball she was chewing on and the 10 weeks wanted to see what the 7 month had and the 7 month snapped at the 10 weeks with lots of sound and the 10 week old cried it out and had a wound above her right eye. I grapped the 7 month and put her on her side to show her thats something I as boss/alpha dont want to see. 1 person said your did it alright and another said you have to let them go their way. When they would be the same age, I would say ok. But the 7 month old is 30 kilo and 56 cm in height. With adult teeth in her mouth, so I think its not smart letting them fight it out themselves. What do you think?
@DogoArgentinoBella4 ай бұрын
This is totally normal, let it go...Just step in when someone is bleeding, i guess, there will be no blood at all.
@antasticmessors60734 ай бұрын
Even with the difference between age, teeth, weight, etc...?
@DogoArgentinoBella4 ай бұрын
Yes, that's completely normal and the older dog basically trains the younger one. Of course it can also be dangerous, but 99% of the time they sort it out between themselves without anything bad happening. However, always keep an eye on it and if it gets out of control, intervene!@@antasticmessors6073

@@DogoArgentinoBellamy fear is that my 7 month old doesnt know how to correct a much smaller puppy. So the 10 week old really gets wounded. We are thinking of putting the 10 week old in a crate through the night. So when we are sleeping, nothing could happen
@DogoArgentinoBella4 ай бұрын
I can completely understand that, there is no such thing as 100% security, this intuition is probably correct. Positive reinforcement could probably help...so when you're together, give both tasks and praise both when they successfully complete their task@@antasticmessors6073

Ive been walking my 7 month old dogo for 1,5 hour yesterday. When I arrived home, you couldnt even tell we walked that long. She started playing with her toys right away. Ive been training her to come when called and I tried the positive rewarding, but for me it doesnt work that well like letting her know not coming back its what I ask for. When she now doesnt come back when called, I will get her and bring her to the spot Ive been calling her from. So she learns she better comes when called and this works much better. Reward when doing good and when she doesnt listen I raise my voice to let her know Im not happy with that situation or what she is doing
@pablosdad4 ай бұрын
Good work! Stay consistent with your training. Spend anywhere from 2-5 min daily with her trying basic commands. Dogos can be very stubborn but overall they are a very intelligent breed. They are fairly easy to train.
@antasticmessors60734 ай бұрын
@@pablosdad stuborn she is, but Im more stubborn then she is. She needs to learn/think Id better do what this guy wants, or else he makes it happen. Did the same with my shepard and I she listens almost perfect. The things that arent perfect are very small things. Like I teached her to poop in bushes and now and then she doesnt feel like bush pooping, so she drops them next to the bushes, like if you want it in the bushes, be my guest and bring it over there yourself🤣🤣🤣
@antasticmessors60734 ай бұрын
@@pablosdad what did you do when they were younger and they didnt come when called? And who in your opinion listened better back then? And who listens better atm?
@pablosdad4 ай бұрын
Lol thank God Pablo and Maya learned quickly not to poop on my lawn. They go into the bushes to do their business
@pablosdad4 ай бұрын
I would go over the command with them at home and if they listened I would give them a treat. I did this daily with them indoors and then practice more when outside. Initially, Maya was the stubborn one and wouldn't listen the first time until I repeated the same command a few times more. But now Pablo is slightly more stubborn than Maya.
