I worked for jeffboat for 3 years....cruelest most uncompassionate company I ever worked for....so glad to see them out of business....not happy that so many fellow welders, fitters and laborers had to find new jobs....I worked with alot of good men....but the company itself and the way its office management treated people makes me glad it went under.....it brings a smile to my face everyday that I ride past their former shipyard and see it being dismantled more and more each day .....soon it will be a riverfront park, or lots for upscale river front homes....good riddance !!!

I can't believe I'm saying this but I miss that shit. I worked for Jeffboat for 5 yrs from 96 to 2001. I worked on line one erection position 4. I worked second shit for the first 3 yrs doing the same thing every day. I fit up the tie-on on the port stern. I had a lot of fun, met a lot of great guys and saw a lot of fucked up shit. Started out a tacker. After 6 months got 2nd class fitter. I made 1st class fitter a year into it and that's where i stayed. I worked with a man by the name of Dave Webb who later became a foreman. not sure if he's still around. It was so long ago but I remember it all.

This is just a basic overview of the intermodal system and global nature of supply chains. Its absolutely not propaganda. I suggest you research what propaganda is.

It will be hard to balance the efficiency of TLOG and Keeping it green. New technologies have to be developed to make the global supply chain effective and efficient.
