There was a time when the Urdu Poets wrote Poems, they DRANK, cut their Lives Short, and left. They are not with us but they left a Legacy, that will not be copied ever again, Majaz, Akhter, Meera Ji, Sudershan Faqeer and many others are those luminaries who will be remembered (or forgotten conveniently) by people like others but not me. I wish I could have seen and heard them in person; my soul wanders with them, it will remain wandering forever. In their memory I am listening to their GHAZALS (Poems) and Drinking, it is way past Midnight, then who is counting?

اللہ تعالی نے حمیرا ارشد کو بہت ہی خوبصورت اواز سے نوازا ہے حمیرا ارشد نے اس گانے کو بھی بہت اچھا گانے کی کوشش کی مگر منور سلطانہ جیسا صدیوں بعد بھی شاید کوئی پیدا ہو منور سلطانہ جیسی کھنکتی اواز انداز کو کوئی نہیں پہنچ سکتا

Good sininging. A master piece 'Mein aarzoo-e-jaan likhun ya jaan-e-aarzoo' sung by Munawar Sultana, lyrics by Mohammad Dawad Khan better known as Akhtar Sherani and music by Niaz Hussain. Eman o Jan nisar teree ek nigh per.... tu jane arzoo he tu eman e arzoo.. Ek wo keh arzoon peh jeete haen umer bher.... ek hum keh haen abhee sey pesheman e arzoo.......Ankhoon se jo e khoon hae rawan. dil hae dag dag.... dekhee koee bahar e guletan e arzoo.... Akhtter ko zindagee ka bhrosa naheen raha...Jab se luta chukee haen ser o saman e arzoo.
