Here are my thoughts: Like the interior changes, not a fan of the added blackness to exterior, especially the rock guards. The rock guards will attract dirt & mud from the tow vehicle's rear wheels, thus they will always look dirty. The rims & propane cover will also need some extra cleaning attention.

Is this a joke? Absolutely terrible! Who in the world wants to sleep with the bugs and mosquitoes? Those speakers are ridiculous - I am living fulltime in a Mercedes Sprinter so I can go to secluded places for peace and calm , not to host a freaking techno party. Thank goodness there are only 30 of them made.

Can you imagine a blackout but change the color of the exterior to make it darker that would look so awesome.

Nice but can't afford. My pop-up gazebo, 1000w power station + solar, porta shower, and the hybrid SUV I sleep in costs less than this. BUT I am looking... but only for sustainable though, eg. no blackwater tank, instead a composting potty or one like in the "Martian" movie, outdoor shower, and totally off-grid with decent solar. I don't mind setting up my 400w "suitcase" solar panel on the ground. Just my take on stuff..

Thank you for sharing about the Trade Wind. I agree with everything except the point about upgrades not adding any value to an RV. The Tradewind is a great model, a bit pricy but has the features people really want. NADA and the RV dealers work together to force RV values down on a timeline, at least that is what I was told and it used to hold true, Airstreams never matched NADA values in the marketplace and there is a vast discrepancy between private market value and dealer value. I do agree that upgrades rarely increase value but perhaps a better way of thinking is that they preserve more of the original value. Example- when I purchased my Airstream years ago used at a dealer, they sent me pictures of it before I got on site. In the pictures, there was a sound system, a TV, AllClad pots and pans set, and a new microwave. When I got to the dealer the TV, pots and pans and sound system were gone. They had removed some items of "value". I asked about it and they coughed all but the sound system up. I purchased the unit. I did not know that the fridge was defective (dometic leaking recall) but knew the tires needed replaced ASAP. I replaced the tires and fridge with better than OEM. Now, over the years, I have maintained my model with replacement parts, mostly upgraded and, added additional upgrades to the camper. I have been to rallies where participants tour each other's Airstreams and people are highly complimentary and comment on how I have been able to keep it as OEM as possible and upgrade it too. At one rally I was parked next to a 2005 model identical to mine with nothing changed. There was a noted stark contrast by touring rally goers. I would venture to say that it is unlike any 2006 Safari I have seen on the market for sale. Most have little to no changes. It is true that I will never recover the upgrade costs but I do believe that the upgrades have value and help the camper to hold a much higher percentage of its value. All of my appliances are replaced except the furnace and all with better models than OEM. Then there is Villa Custom Sofa (like the classics), New Power Center, Lithium, Solar, Plumbing, fixtures, ventilation, wheels, 3P hitch, Vinnie's ceramic coat, the list is extensive. There is no way to value it using NADA but there is also no way to insure an Airstream using NADA valuation either - agreed value and appraisals all the way. Something I have learned about Airstreams, mostly by touring them, is that the various eras still have their advantages, that betterment is not necessarily found in the latest series- often more of a cheapening. I have seen floorplans long gone that are to me, better thought out than most newer models. Airstreams are amazing campers but amazing does not stop at age 5 or 10.

Chad, As always, thank you for your KZbin leadership in keeping us up-to-date on changes coming from Airstream. We are seriously considering ordering a GT 27 (and possibly from you, of course), but we are holding off, hoping Airstream will update the interior Decor options, as the current color combos are getting stale. And, we are wondering what other changes, if any, are coming for the next iteration of the GT. Any insights you can share??? Thank you.

I like the black wheels and lift which anyone can do and relatively inexpensive (especially on my single axle Bambi). Stereo and belt line is easily upgraded also. Not a fan of the black stone guards or LP cover. The rest is whatever. Black sunshade seems like a bad idea for multiple reasons. I do like the Flamingo though.

Thor and Airstream aren't the same thing. Airstream is Airstream they build their campers different then Thor. Yes, Thor owns Airstream, but that's about as far as it goes. Also, Thor has owned Airstream since 1980... I'd say they aren't doing to bad.

@ I purchased a 30 rb Classic I had so many problems. I tried to get them to do a buyback because I had basically a flood from busted waterline. I had hinges falling off and a lot more issues, refrigerator wouldn’t shut kept coming open when traveling. When you contact airstream for major repairs like this they tell you, you have to contact Thor. I had an attorney contact them and they finally gave me 60% of my original purchase price. I’ll never purchase another Thor product again..

The Journey XTR does not connect to Verizon. It uses AT&T, TMobile, and US Cellular. I've used it for about a year now and it is a pretty reliable connection, but it is LTE only (no 5G, that's a different product) and it appears to be capped for bandwidth. 25mbs is about the max I get, I've had a few faster, but that's the exception. I think it's a good service, but it has become my backup to Starlink. It is convenient tho, just not super fast.

Love our 2022 20ft Bambi. Added many Caravel updates after a year that cost much less than Caravel. The great kitchen and bathroom sold us. Pantry and counter space and storage throughout rv are wonderful. Mini blinds while annoying at times allow for varying the views, privacy and lighting. Thanks for pointing out all the top likes of this model. We agree should be No 1.

Reupholstered dinette seating and added pad under dinette windows, telescoping table, added stove vent and three burner stove, installed rock guards, added awnings on dinette side and back. We are very happy with the changes rather than trade it in for a much more expensive rig.
