I used 2 tins on my 71 Transit and was really impressed with the way the wax ran into the joints then dried to a residue which hasn't washed off, it was esspecially good on the front upper inner wings and the cills under the front doors..

@@keithm6117 I can’t understand why people jump to simple off the shelf products in your local Halfords. I agree this is far superior and fit for purpose. And it doesn’t cost much more! By the way kudos on the 71 Transit, I would love to have an older shape original Transit. You just don’t see them anymore.

Hi. Thanks for the informative video. My Lexus is badly rusty underneath. I'm thinking of scraping down and then going with Jenolite rust converter spray. But then either Bilt Hamber SC50, or there's a newer product Bilt Hamber Electrox. Which one would you reckon?
@carrevival8200
@carrevival8200 3 ай бұрын
Hi Simon. You’re welcome. I would say Definitely S50 over Electrox as the latter would be better on a restored surface which is completely free of corrosion. S50 will cover existing rust (converted of course as would be better in the long run) and heal itself if compromised. Also you’ll get some cavity protection with S50. Also Bilt Hamber do a rust converter which i’ve used and it’s pretty much the same as Kurust 🤙

Do you have to apply Rust Converter first? Or can you just clean the rust with brush and spray away?
@carrevival8200
@carrevival8200 5 ай бұрын
If there is rust already there, i would always advise grind back, rust convert, re-paint and then treat. BUT i’m a realist, if you’re just trying to prevent further rust but don’t want to do a full restoration/repair then yes rust convert first. I’d at least spray some primer over the affected area first though maybe?

Did this today on my '99 Corsa B, after watching this video. One recommendation from me would be to not use the straw they provide, this gives a much finer spray and doesn't waste so much product. Apparently, it works better to build up fine coats, as opposed to one heavy one. I also used Dynax S50 with a long straw to do inside the chassis legs.

Well done for for your second attempt for painting. On them new parts bumper and wing wet on wet primer it will lay down really flat . Also I have learned to use a flex additive in my paint on plastic to stop cracking if it gets into a knock again. But overall good job . It’s all about learning and doing the best job you can and improving . Check out Brian on paint society he helped me improve my painting and he explains the stages in depth ( wet on wet primer in American is called sealer)

Hi Simon. Can i just say thank you for giving advice without being offensive. It’s nice to see people giving their experience in a constructive and approachable manner rather than just dishing out abusive comments. I’ve been watching Tony’s Refinishing but i have on your recommendation watched quite a few of Brians videos already (particularly on his bumper/plastic paint jobs) He’s really good at explaining everything and somehow makes me feel more confident about taking on the different stages. Absolutely bang on regarding Flex additive. I’m popping in to the paint shop this week and picking some up. Any advice you can offer is greatly appreciated and respected considering you’ve been where i am now. I’d sooner listen to someone with experience rather than make mistakes because i’m too set in my way. Also thank you for the compliment as well really appreciate it buddy. Pep

do you ever buy used panels in colour or isnt it worth it?
@carrevival8200
@carrevival8200 2 жыл бұрын
Hi Julian. I bought a genuine colour match wing for the Qashqai (other video) because it was available and the car didn’t need any other paint so was worth paying extra for the wing rather than buying an unpainted one that’s cheaper and painting it. If the car needs paint in other places then i just buy unpainted replacement panels and paint them as i can warrant buying the paint etc if that makes sense. It always works out cheaper to buy new unpainted panels if you have other parts of the car to paint. Also it’s hard to find undamaged panels in the correct colour sometimes.

Not as easy as it looks this trade but so rewarding to put good cars back on the road to be enjoyed by someone in need of them. Wasn’t sure about the price. I honestly thought it was correct myself at first but because of the way things are at the minute, i’ve had to reduce it. Could partially be down to it’s a limited audience with it being an Auto as well. Thanks for the Subscribe really appreciate it. Will keep the content coming. Hi Charlie. Thanks buddy, yes I learnt my lesson from the last one and spent ages in the paint shop matching it up. I have also learnt that the colour can change depending on what air pressure you paint at AND how many coats of clear you put on can also affect the colour. My process now is to use spray out cards trying multiple pressures/coats etc to find the best method. I’m a fan of the colour as-well i think it suits the car.
