The two kids are Larcade and August Spriggan 12 members who died in the Alvarez arc. Larcade was a demon made by Zeref and granted the last name Dragneel for being one of his greatest creations and August was Zeref and Mavis's biological son.

Yeah, Furan is probably a Buddhist but He just uses Buddhist teachings as an excuse to commit atrocities. And his face painting comes from a famous religious painting. However, in Japan, Buddha (仏) and France (仏蘭西) are represented by the same kanji. He is quite an interesting character. Regarding 3D, in TV anime, due to the cost and schedule, they use CGI to replace the more technically difficult ones. It is quite difficult to move the whole body of a horse, and many animes, even hand-drawn ones, hide the legs or only move the whole body for a moment. The other thing is that armor of this period is quite difficult to draw decorations and it is hell for authors, so few people draw stories of this period even in manga. So it's pretty amazing that they've managed to achieve this quality in this animated TV series with so many horses and armor. In addition to this,Clover works also understands the significance of using CGI in animation and tries to compensates for this with dynamic camera work. Thanks for your time

At the very least this season will give us the entirety of the Aldoron arc and if we are lucky all the fights that happened offscreen will get extended for the anime.
