At the end I said the Master track still works - not on the drum tracks. Alas! Makes sense, if it tried to change their MIDI note it would just trigger a different sample

Yeah it's killer. Got it from a reddit trade, actually, one of those things I didn't know I needed. I was experimenting today hitting the swell into Rise or Light on the Sloer - you can get right up to the edge of too much

every Kick hit is triggering two samples, each with its own ampEG or LFO, so that the combined sound is different every time, like a real drum would be. Same with the snare. In part two, I have hihat sounds muting each other, as well. This is using Ableton/M4L to process the midi signal and send it where I want, or add messages alongside. that’s the wizardry
