Prepandemic balak kong dumayo dito para maghanap nh cassettes kaso sa tagal ng panahon nawala na sa isip ko. RIP Mang Greg, sayang di tayo nagkilala in person

I understand that the younger generation gets a lot of hate. Yes some of those criticisms are warranted. But let's give credit where credit is due. Right now, people born post 2000s are playing an important role in keeping physical media alive and are carrying forward the legacy of folks like Mang Greg. It's apparent that 80s and 90s culture is resonating with Malaya and others like her. Perhaps it's the over consumption of music today - from labels always forcing the 'next best artist' onto people, or the ease of access from streaming services. Either way, some people want to slow down from the world around them and feel more connected to their favourite bands and musicians. Not to mention, ownership of a physical piece of work can be better than renting digital media. Although these two grew up decades apart, they will forever be bound for their love of a subculture within music, 'CD Collecting'. Ultimately, this tradition will live on. Malaya is young at heart with an old soul, just like Mang Greg. Thank you Direk Jego & everyone involved for producing this wonderful film. Que sera, sera...whatever will be, will be.

So sad to here of his passing. May he rest in peace. I wonder if his shop will continue and who will take up his passion?

When Earth is hit by an EMP (Electromagnetic Pulse) it will delete/erase all date on hard-drives and/or memory cards etc. This includes Photos & Music. That will be the time when you will make a lot of money for your music CDs.

Last december early part ako pumunta kay mang greg. Sabi niya balik january 2025 dahil baka may bago darating. Pumunta ako ng 12/30/2024 kasama si mrs. Dahil lagi niya hinahanap pag pumupunta ako sa kanya. Sarado tindahan. Then nalalaman ko that day siya namatay. Dala pa naman namin yung langis na pampahid sa katawan dahil epektib daw. From 2021 akong naging regular suki niya. Bought more than a hundred cd’s from him. He made you feel like a family. We will miss you mang greg

Ooh, nice vid. Buhay pa din mga CDs ko, konti lang naman, mga favorites. Iniingatan ko yun kasi baon ko nung college pinambibili ko dun back in the 90s. Nawala na yung cd player ko, ninakaw yun dati, so sa dvd player ko na lang pwede pakinggan, pero binurn ko na sa pc lahat yun years ago for storage sa cloud. Pati cassette tapes ko, i kept them, plus some dvds. And yung vcd ng old fave ko, The Godfather, 1-3. Ang dinispose ko lng yung rewinder, hehe. Rest in peace, Mang Greg.
