I've been researching quail for a couple months. I was torn between coturnix and button. I wanted them for meat and egg production, but also to enjoy inside the house. I learned about the smell of the coturnix, but also the very, very small eggs of the button. But the buttons are so cute and colorful, want them! I finally decided to have both! I'm going to build an outside larger aviary for the jumbo coturnix (meat and eggs) and a small inside aviary for the buttons (pets and a few eggs).

Day you set the eggs is day 0, not day 1

what brand do you use ? Also what size dowels (diameter & length) do you use ?

You can register any rabbit over 6 months old that meets SOP. They dont even have to have legs.

I live in Utah and look forward to meeting Kelli. My hatching of eggs and 4 cages for mating and large growout cage plus brooder cage is working great. I want to expand my colors so I have a lot to learn. This will be my first winter with quail as I have them outdoors while my chicken coop is a nice 80 degrees. I have questions on feed and water during winter as we get 6 feet living on the Nordic Valley Ski Resort. It’s brutal so don’t know how winter will go. Kelli seems so cool. Thx WTF you rock

Thank you! We love the watering system as well. We have to wash everything weekly after sand baths, or they smell like pond scum, but with the connection system, it is easy to clean, so it makes me very happy. They work great! Made in USA! Way to go!

Thanks for this Kristen. I was hoping to see you at QC, and i'm sorry you won't be attending. I really enjoyed talking with you and Brandon last year. I have trouble with the concept of gaslighting. Idky. But many explanations you gave sounded like co-workers i can't walk away from. It's the job with the golden handcuffs. Worthwhile compensation for a very weird schedule and a LOT of on-call. (118.5 hours in two weeks at one point this summer). I am a homesteader and sell quail and chicken eggs. We'll see about the duck eggs. I heard that was a game of hide & seek. Peace and joy to you.
