I'm so against everything in the U.S. being B-I-G I could scream! I SO long for the day when practicality and common sense come to our shores, but it won't. These small vans are the real Swiss Army Knives on the road. Wish they were openly available.

your love and adoration for your sambar does not go unnoticed. i often take my kei truck when i go to my libraries and it turns a mundane drive into something so fun! also the shot at 7:41 is gorgeous.

Aww thank you so very much! This is such a wonderful comment. I also love that driving our Keis turns everyday into a bit more of an adventure.
I also love the green color with the green nature. I have taken many photos of the Sambar with my Fuji Cameras. I have many of those photos and my nature photography on my Instagram. @bimmersandbeans

Gloves - change timing belt - cam and crank seats - tensioner - water pump - or travel at your own peril. But , sambars is a non interference engine , so ya won't destroy it , just be stranded

Our shop Cooper Autoworks is a full service BMW specialty repair shop and the sambar is my personal project car. My name is Kelsey and I enjoy sharing wholesome and cute videos of my Sambar when I have time to create them. I don't share many details about myself nor everything about the van and that is intentional. I spend a lot of time running our business, prepping for, and competing in motorsports. I'm very aware of what could happen which is why I've personally done the maintenance work it's needed and most of it is in a video on this channel. Not only that but If the van were to break down I could pick it up myself with my truck and trailer. I'm confident that we are prepared for and can handle any issues that may arise so the van is not in peril, it's in great hands. If you're looking for more detailed service information or to watch a serious sambar expert at work I'd suggest the Oh Kei garage. His videos are fantastic and I've personally learned a lot from him since the vast majority of my mechanical experience has been on BMW'S.

It's the stock cupholder, Im not sure where you might find them. It's tiny though, really only meant to hold cans not big American cups.

One trick when pouring out oil or other liquids: try turning the container around 180 degrees, so that the hole from where the liquid pours out is on top rather than at the bottom. It looks really weird, but the flow is way more stable and easy: kzbin.info/www/bejne/jnbUpaedodN4Ztk

KEI is the way! I found your channel from the previous Sam video and you got me. One thing often performed as part of an initial servicing is also a new water pump. A Sambar in my driveway is on my to do list.
@Cooperautoworks4 ай бұрын
I'll have the service video up next week! I did the timing belt as it was cracked but not the water pump yet. It's something I'll probably plan on doing in the near future. This van is super low miles but time has certainly played a factor in certain components being worn!
