Back story about this game. Charlie Strong interviewed for the UF job when Meyer retired. Strong was the DC & AHC for Meyer. The players wanted Strong, but the boosters didn’t because he had a wife white allegedly. Strong beating them was everything for him.

We should have played Bama over stupid ND. Oregon would have won the Natty. The Ducks literally lost by 3 in OT at home to Stanford and that’s what kept them out of the BCS National Championship. Oregon finished 13-1 and was clearly one of the 2 best teams this season.

Michigan by all acounts should have won this game. They won the field position battle, they won the turnover battle, and Texas couldn't guard Edwards. But VY, put this team on his back and won this game with sheer will. Amazing.

Historically Michigan's defense always struggled with multi purpose quarterbacks like Vince Young. Especially the likes of Ricky Foggy of Minnesota, Rodney Peete of USC, Warren Moon of Washington, Troy Smith of OSU, and Terrelle Pryor of OSU. Michigan was offered to the open date the 2000 season in the kickoff classic versus Virginia Tech and Michael Vick.......Michigan politely declined the offer for obvious reasons. Instead USC played Penn State.

Vince was a god in the NCAA for those two years. As a Texas fan, those we the easiest two years of life. You knew than VY could do anything he wanted to, and that you were going to win because he was on the field.

People like to talk about how great 05 Texas was but they don’t like to talk about how they were losing to usc 38-26 because of Pete carols mistakes usc lost. It is only the greatest national championship game because Texas came back and won. But I blame Pete just like they blamed him for the Seahawks loss in the 2nd straight SB
@michaelcortez8146
@michaelcortez8146 5 ай бұрын
Oh so you just can't admit that Texas was the better team. So you just place blame on everything else but the team playing bad. Just remember that The Horns beat y'all. Lol what a bitch you are for trying to blame the loss on someone else.
