Read an article re: a hunter's disdain for stand-hunting: he said it is unsporting. Fwiw, I know that there are plenty of moral, careful hunters. That can actually be a better alternative to getting meat from the USDA, which is a grim alternative, but the only one most have available. Glad to see state college celebrates this now, didn’t know they did or that they even had a lgbtq group in centre county yet. I always heard stories growing up about lesbian students at the school having to hide and incidents of people being beaten up/attacked in town if they crossed off campus property into town on nights/weekends to try to go shopping or see the tourist spots or anything. If I recall correctly it’s part of the reason University Park, Pa and State College, Pa became separate towns/places with separate post offices and everything even though they are meant to be all State College, Pa. The town is named after the fact it has a state college though but it used to be so bigoted they had to separate and form a separate town and have a separate post office and their own campus police to try to protect the students better. Growing up I got taught cities were inherently liberal and I would laugh and exclaim they’ve never seen state college or been to central Pennsylvania then if they believed that. I guess technically state college is like 3 to 10 times more liberal then Clearfield and heaven help a liberal city person from a large city like New York City or something if they ever ended up in somewhere like Frenchville Shawville Lecontes Mills area or even in Curwensville. But yeah even though Altoona State College and DuBois are way more liberal then say even Clearfield is, they aren’t liberal at least weren’t really when I was growing up in the 80s and 90s. Really pleasantly surprising to see a peaceful pride event in state college. As for it having a whole month, most things do these days, very few things seem to have a day or week anymore for 20 to 30 years now most things seem to get a month assigned to them. History month, black history month, women’s history month, heart health month go red for women month breast cancer awareness month, etcetera. Plus the way it’s changed from lesbian and gay alliance to lesbian gay and bisexual to lesbian gay bisexual transsexual to lesbian gay bisexual transsexual queer to lesbian gay bisexual transsexual queer/questioning to lesbian gay bisexual transgender/transitioning queer/questioning… and that was just by the 1990s/early 2000s By around 2010 the t also stood for transgender too, then they added a plus sign to make it lgbtq+ saying they were done adding letters… then they added ia to make it lgbtqia+ since the late 2010s or early 2020s the I believe was for people with intersex conditions and not sure what the a was meant to stand for asexual/non-sexual maybe? As many types of people they try to protect/shelter under one umbrella group/term it makes sense they have a month, as they have enough groups/terms it would take nearly the whole year if each one got a month. Also as far as I know pride month is still unofficial like most of the months assigned to various things, while many of the national appreciation weeks and days are designated by law and are official to an extent and often considered as official special days by law but unofficial holidays. The months are usually only of interest to the group they affect are hardly reported on often times, just occasionally like this snippet/news clip to make people aware in case they were interested but didn’t know about it in case they want to attend later in life or celebrate it in their own way or something.

Why a whole month?

For everyone wondering why they can't see plane parts it was not a normal angle that it crashed like we're use to seeing. As an alumni to YSCP and having graduated with Malachi and Hannah, This school does not help with a lot of things. My mental health was worst it’s ever been when I was at the school, there is BLATANT favoritism among a lot of the teachers and staff, and I must say I am happy to be gone.
