Styx was never the same without their leader with the golden voice.

I would have loved to see Dennis on Broadway. He must have been fantastic in Jesus Christ Superstar. That was a fantastic Rock Opera. Saw it in London.

They are all individually so talented. They still are but I long for the epic, classic songs they've put out as a group, They could put down some magical songs that sadly will never be made again. I'm so lucky to have real music being made for me my whole life unlike the music scene today where everything is fixed or manipulated to be perfect. Well they've taken the soul out of music with all it's imperfections. There's still good music out there, you just gotta look harder to find it. Man this concert is really taking me back. Thanks for posting unless you're a robot and if that's the case, I'll just say Meep - Zorp!! 🤖 🦫 🤔

I will have to check out Tim Hardin's original version; I only know the Rod Stewart cover (and rock covers in that vein). If the fiddle was Hardin's original intention (and is that a dobro I hear?) , then I'll give Tommy and his bandmates a pass here. Otherwise, I have to admit, it's a bit corny. JMO.

It really does feel like brothers estranged, doesn't it? You have no idea what you guys together again, if only briefly, would mean to us.

WOW! Just discovered this video today. THIS is the STYX I remember in concert. Saw them in 80 and 81. Would love to go again. I know the lineup is quite different, however just seeing Tommy and JY again live would be amazing. The best music of my long lost youth lol. 😂❤

This was so disappointing as the host probably never listened to the album she asked nothing about the songs the label change to Atlantic and don’t answer this is a video show… Tommy is great this completely sucked… a lazy unprepared interview trash junk… I heard this years ago it’s still garbage…

It's such a shame that no one appreciated the video footage we would want of this band in the future at the time. They we pretty much perfect live. Harmony's on stage are pretty much unmatched to this day.

I saw this tour in the Boston Garden. I do believe Angel opened at that venue. Both acts were fantastic.
@TJR-ClassicRockCorner0124Ай бұрын
Angel opened in 1978 on The Main Event Tour aka Pieces of Eight Tour. Paradise Theater Tour had no opening act. It was an evening with Styx. The band members took breaks on Dennis’ piano solo, Tommy’s acoustic guitar solo and JY’s electric guitar solo spots.

I was able to contact Tommy Shaw and had a e-mail relationship with him for 10 months. Wonderful person & loved our interaction he is such a great person. He told me I was his kind of people. He changed his e-mail and lost touch with him. I was amazed that he was able to keep in touch with him in spite of his popularity. He shared with me his growing up years and how he got started in the music industry. The song Crystal Ball was a transformative & healing song for me growing up during young trying years. He said he was glad his music could help me.

It was really nice of Dennis to make this guest appearance that Tommy asked him to make to promote his "7 Deadly Zens" solo album. That's the kind of thing a friend does. Dennis had nothing to gain from this appearance.
