Sadly, nurses are chronically stressed and over worked and don’t have the opportunity to deliver the kind of personal care that they would like to deliver. That in itself is stressful. We need to treat our nurses better by achieving appropriate staffing levels and offer retention bonuses. As a former patient, I appreciate first hand the workload and responsibility they carry. We need to do better and show them that they are valued and soon.

To Our Dedicated Nurses, Your unwavering commitment to caring for others often goes unseen, yet it forms the very backbone of our healthcare system. While you may not wear a uniform that turns heads on the street, your impact resonates through the halls of our hospitals and in the lives of countless patients and families. Day after day, you stand on the front lines of human suffering, offering not just medical expertise, but also compassion, comfort, and hope. You are there in our most vulnerable moments - when we're injured, sick, or facing the end of life. Your gentle touch, kind words, and tireless efforts make an immeasurable difference. It's all too easy for society to overlook your critical role, as your work often happens behind hospital walls. But make no mistake - you are the unsung heroes of healthcare. Your profession demands not only extensive knowledge and skill but also incredible emotional strength and resilience. We recognize that you are often overworked and underappreciated. The stress you endure and the sacrifices you make for the well-being of others are truly remarkable. It's disheartening to see that when budgets tighten, your vital roles are sometimes the first to face cuts, despite the essential service you provide. Today, we want you to know that your dedication does not go unnoticed. You are the lifeblood of our healthcare system, the compassionate faces we turn to in our darkest hours. Your work is not just a job - it's a calling that helps maintain the health and well-being of our entire society. To all nurses, we extend our deepest gratitude and respect. You deserve so much more recognition, support, and appreciation than you currently receive. Thank you for your tireless service, your compassionate hearts, and your unwavering commitment to the health and care of others. You are truly essential, and we are profoundly grateful for all that you do.

What would we do without nurses. It’s not an easy job, sometimes it’s a thankless job but it shouldn’t be. They are all doing their best to make a difference. Support Alberta nurses. 💕

I had a Terrible experience with post surgery care at South campus, and it was not the nurses fault, but she was left covering someone else when I had an issue and I wasn't supposed to be walking yet. When people are told to not walk on their operated leg yet, then they need a nurse available, but she was covering on another ward .. just for one task, but that was when stuff hot the fan for me....b❤love to all you nurses at South campus and everywhere

Nursing is not what it once was. As one nurse commented, we had time to talk to our patients, give them clean beds, give them basins so they could wash up or bathe them, even wash their hair. As a student nurse we said that we should have had hairdressing as part of our course. Over the years much has changed, but there was still time to talk to patients and not just do the basics. When I retired, computers had come in but they didn't seem to save time then. Do they now? Other than make doctor's orders more readable? As a retired nurse, a group of us would meet together monthly and vowed to give back rubs if one of us had to be a hospital patient. Now we would have to bring our own lotion. I so appreciate what we had and we thought we were very busy then. I feel for the nurses now for all they are unable to do for their patients.

Generous pay and benefits get in the way of patient care. Exploiting the social currency of a pandemic to obstruct or delay care is unacceptable. Health Care spending is out of control because of Union greed.

In the meantime the private sector has lost thousands of jobs that aren't coming back. These same jobs pay your salaries by way of taxes within the "growing" part of the economy.

I would like to be excited to see this, but I am almost insulted that despite having a current valid nursing license with the province of Ontario, not any of the Canadian provinces made any effort to recruit experienced nurses back home. I have worked in US hospitals for 20yrs and now it is the experienced staff who have worked for a hospital for a longer period of time are the specific ones working in a toxic threatening environment because their salary is higher.

Thank you for waking me up at 6 am every damn morning and making me insane with all of your yelling and honking ALL DAY LONG. we do in fact realize that the cars honking are the same ones every time. I wish someone there would have some consideration for the residents which you apparently 'care for'. You may think it's for some good cause to get paid more like nurses. I don't know, I don't give a flying fuck. But your life could be worse, no? This stuff is annoying and I'm hoping it ends soon.

Ed Stelmach not getting another term? Maybe. PCs not forming another government.................HAHAHAAHAAHAHA LOLOLOL ARE YOU SHITTING ME!?!? Alberta is THE conservative stronghold. You guys are just gonna vote conservative as usual. Like grifter Harper, who's screwing us over. I'm no big fan of Paul Martin, but I think if we still had him as PM our country would be in better shape. But we know you guys always vote for the right-wing. That's never gonna change. I hope it does though

Ed Stelmach and the P.C.'s are burnt out, they have no plan about anything it's try and deal with issues as they come along. The P.C.'s are running in deficits, But Stelmach seems to have plenty of money to help pay for a worlds fair which would cost billions. Which history has proven stands a very good chance of being a total failure. But it's not his money, it's our tax money, And this sure smells of coruption.
