Lexington SC is one of the worst places in SC. Redneck Paradise. There are more trailers and big tired trucks in this town than there is acreage.

Did Lexington have any affects from the recent hurricane?

Yes, there was some mild to moderate damage to a few areas. Mostly from fallen trees, but there was some flooding in a few parts as well

Yes, but it's a humid heat!😂. It could be a furance, scorching, and desert heat, like you would find in Las Vegas, Phoenix, Dallas, and parts of California. I was in Spartanburg and Greenville this August, and the weather was very nice and comfortable.

I detest HOA's. It really surprised me, having moved down here recently, why people who love freedom so much would choose to allow some random person to tell them how to live their life. I chose to rent for a year to figure out where I want to live and so I am in an HOA.... it's not a horrible one, fortunately, but I just hate the idea of some random person telling me how I can and can't live my life. (We live on a lake and I'm not allowed to park my jetski on the property?? What??) When I buy next year, you'd better believe there will NOT be an HOA on my land. Just my opinion.

Yes, you are allowed to have your own pool.However, if you plan to move into an HOA community, check with them first to make sure they will allow one.

Are there any 1 story homes that don't have HOA? From what I'm seeing, most of the homes are 2 story. Is the homeowner's insurance cheaper than here in FL?

I currently live in Florida and between car insurance, homeowner's insurance and the cost of living in general it's becoming less affordable every year. I'm an RN, so I have no idea what the pay is for nurses in SC. Does Lexington ever get any snow? That would be my only deal breaker. Dental care here in Florida is more expensive compared to some states; is it that way there too? How is traffic there?

@@crystaljennings_realtor Pennsylvania. We've always hated the 6-months of miserable rainy, cold winters here. Now, moving in late-June is gonna be an experience! :) My cousin from down there warned me that "the south is still on pre-heat". :D

We're from NOVA as well and looking to move to the Columbia sc area. How much worse are the bugs over there? Are things like roaches and mosquitos hard to deal with compared to NOVA? The wife absolutely hates bugs lol and its a big consideration for us but if its not too much worse than virgina then it should be ok.

Bugs are a big part of life in Lexington. It is a clear indication that SC is one of the few places that still has a real eco system. It would not last long however. Developers, businesses, transportation department are working overtime to strip the state of last vestiges of green cover. It may be gone by the time you move here. So it will be just Reston or Falls Church for you.

I would say even more so. Many of those people move here BECAUSE of those values, so they are protective of them and the sacrifices it took to relocate.

Not at all. You will see some hostility over social media, however, people are generally very welcoming in real life here

Traffic is terrible, many 2 lane roads, traffic backs up bad at high traffic times. There is a large homeschooling community in the area. Too much development too fast has destroyed many woodlands outside of town limits. Many developments have postage stamp yards and houses are 10 feet apart.. If one wants land you will have to go to rural areas.

I thought that you have a lot to offer to people considering a move to Lexington. However, I just want to share with you my initial reactions when I watched your video. I noticed that it was more than halfway through the video before you finally spoke to why you chose Lexington, and it didn't seem to me that you provided clear, specific reasons for your move. Since you are, I assume, interested in not only sharing your story, but increasing your real estate business, I would humbly suggest making certain that the information you provide is what would be most helpful for potential customers to know about and is presented in a concise manner that provided real specifics we should know. Thank you. I'm looking forward to seeing further videos.
