I know this is 5 years old but this is a great video and great job by the creator. Probably my favorite star trek character.

Garak has to be one of my favourite characters, followed by Odo, I loved the scenes with the Dr and Garak I always felt there was a homosexual air about them one that was forever unspoken, or a deep meaningful friendship between two males

It is curious how a 30 years old series would still have influence over millions of even though half actors dead

All of the actors speak with such PERFECT dialect and accent. This is almost like listening to modern Shakespeare.

I often look at DS9 as a betrayal of everything Roddenberry tried to achieve. Instead it allowed, by his perspective, "human" weaknesses to be portrayed by other species... Though "every" iteration of Star Trek, fell short in the "vengeance" category. And, even then, I use that phrase lightly.... The ability to obfuscate your true intentions is something we "relish" in our present leaders, because to show weakness is to invite annihilation, yet we "REPEATEDLY" elect leaders who are legally and biologically impaired to actually tell the truth. Between Reagan, the Clintons, and the repeated Bushes, don't get me started.... Yet, I wonder why? This is, somehow, Anathema to a man telling doomed passengers, on a failing transport, that they can live... Yet he did, and so did they... Coincidences, are often the only cards, someone who has nothing left to live for, has, and Gene knew this better than anyone on the planet.... He just didn't like the taste it left in his mouth... Its called Survivor's guilt.... After this, he strove for something more pure, while forgetting what made him special. A conscious.... Also unGodly luck, normally bereft of the species as a whole....... He wanted that coincidence to mean something.... And his legacy is something to both behold with respect, and enjoy.....

The truly frightening part of all of this; Deep Space 9, Garak, the Dominion War, is that it is a reflection of our past, present, and possible future. Garak's paranoia and secretive nature is justified. That's what scares me. The fact that even in a paradise like future, discrimination, genocide, betrayal, extortion... It's a part is our nature. We can't help it. And that. That is why Deep Space 9 is special.

Garak was absolutely the most interesting character in all of the DS9 series. And he was originally supposed to be in only for the pilot episode and then not continued... but Andrew was so amazing at bringing Garak to life, they put him in more and more episodes. This isn't just a tribute to the character of Garak, it's a tribute to Andrew Robinson - the man who brought Garak to life.

This guy was the best addition to the ds9 cast. The mysterious cardassian that everyone hates, but love at the same time. I felt sorry for him in the end. Was happy to see him along with a fair amount of the ds9 characters in STO gamma quadrant episode.

When asked by a fellow Cardassian patriot if he'd shoot one of his own to save a Bajoran woman (Kira) he replied with a wry, "Oh, how little you understand me." That line alone describes Garak in his totality. Neither white or black, or even completely grey. He's more complicated than he let's on. The "simple tailor" is just one of many masks this living enigma wears. No label can truly describe him. Arguably the best character DS9 ever had.
