Perfect example of what NOT to do. You see it coming, get off the road, pull into a store or plaza and wait it out. Bad for your car engine, dangerous, as you saw all the idiots driving without headlights on. And the haboob is driven by a thunderstorm so you will get hammered on the back end as well. Just get off the road and park somewhere safe until it passes. This wasn't even that bad a storm. I have been in them in Iraq where you couldn't see 5 feet in front of your vehicle.

You handled that PERFECTLY. This is also how you drive in blizzard conditions. You went super slow but didn’t stop. So you don’t plow into the person in front of you, while also not getting rear-ended. Good work

Well, First heard about dust storms from my supervisor at my job lives in Arizona. I live in Florida in from June to November. We are in hurricane season. It is not as bad as people think it is.

I wonder if the dust penetrating everything inside the car while running shaves life off of everything, as oppose to it just blowing about the car turned off and parked. Surely the air filters would be utterly saturated, to say nothing about the finer stuff that made it all they way into the cylinders.
