What is a little humiliating is that I only know a lot of the music from Looney Tunes cartoons and Bugs Bunny cartoons. Though it is amazing that the cartoons introduced them to a generation of children! I love that you know so much - it has made me appreciate them more and wanting to track down the history and listen to the originals. Thank you for your love of music and your love of their performance! 💛

Your enthusiasm is catching, sir! I couldn't remember the name of Eine Kleine Nachtmusik, and I didn't recognize Romeo and Juliet (I need to listen to more of his ballets), but I got all of the others. It was neat to learn more about the history of some of the pieces from you! I highly recommend Home Free's rendition of "Ring of Fire," which includes Avi of Pentatonix fame.

If you're playing acapella bands, give a watch to Home Free. Two of the members of Home Free join Straight No Chaser in their video "Rocky Top". Another member of Home Free sings with Voice Play in their video of "Top 10 ACA movie themes". Since you're a 'classical nerd', I think you'd enjoy "Two Country Singers Try Singing Opera" (on Austin Brown's channel).

Thought you might like where this music has been used in movies. Toccata and Fugue in D Minor - J. S. Bach Disney's Fantasia used this for the opening of the movie in 1940 The opening was the orchestra starting to tune and get the instuments ready and then they played this one. My pleasure. I played the Contrabass Clarinet in my high school's concert band and we played a lot of this list. We did Candide at competition and blew the socks off the judges. One just wrote WOW! In The Hall of The Mountain King was my favorite movement for the Peer Gynt Suite. I love your picture for Subscribe but too late - already did it.

When Layne wanted a chant for late in the piece, he took inspiration from the talking trees at Disney’s Tiki Room. So although it’s completely made up, it sounds Hawaiian.

The Dragon is in The Hobbit and it's movie trilogy, and is named Smaug. He is mentioned I believe, in Lord of the Rings, but there are no more dragons alive during the time period of Lord of the Rings. I love your reaction, you are so fun and knowledgeable!!!

I love how knowledgeable you are about classical music, and I ESPECIALLY love how much you enjoyed this arrangement / medley! I'm not sure what you've seen from them so far, but one of my current favorites is their live version of Elvira (it's not on their page, I recommend just searching KZbin for "Voiceplay Elvira Live" or something like that. My favorite video is the one at the Gordon Performance Center.) My favorite full-length cover of Geoff's is Wicked Game!

Here is the problem. Biden didn't just become demented overnight. They went through a primary where millions of people voted based on their faith that the DNC was honest with them. They want to replace Biden now that many state deadlines have passed when they knew all along the EXACT mental condition of Biden for months, even years? When he was campaigning from his basement, he couldn't even complete sentences reading off his own notes!

Exactly, I agree with this statement. But the fact is: BOTH Democrats and Republicans are doing the worst job that I have ever seen in my life time. If Biden were to be replaced as a candidate for president I might have faith in our nation and government but I don’t . I fear that we are and not exaggerating we are heading towards Project 2025 and I said in my previous video that I don’t want to be here when it happens. Neither does my girlfriend. If there’s any chance of hope left in humanity please do the right thing and get a better candidate for president to replace Biden to save democracy and defend Trump.

Geoff was blessed with a gift, and he has worked hard to develop that talent. Still works at it, learning new skills like video editing. An introvert, he's been uncomfortable when he was recognized at random in public, and he likes being home with his family so he's unlikely to tour. We Patreon members keep asking for a VoicePlay concert in Orlando, so they don't have to travel, livestreamed so we can all experience them "live." For now we just enjoy the videos.

In the very 1st phrase Geoff was singing but not in the bass register. Geoff and Layne both have 5 octave voices. that deeeeep 1st note you heard was a G zero (off the normal keyboard).

Not sure what "deeeeep 1st note" you're talking about - do you have a timestamp? To the best of my knowledge, Geoff has never had a G0 subharmonic in a video - in this one, the lowest I've seen/heard discussed was the B0 subharmonic (2nd white key on a piano) that starts at 0:25 in the original recording (right after J. None sings "Me"), which Geoff sustains for about 15 seconds with some slight modulations. He repeats the B0 two more times, but not in places where it's as easy to pick out in the harmony. A G0 would be a couple of semitones lower than Geoff has ever been credited with.

Geoff's range A0 growl, B0 (subharmonic), F1 (full chest), B4 (some mix, but not always), Bb5 (highest falsetto from the short Peaches (Super Mario Bros). I know he could do all you suggested, but I think he is happy with VoicePlay - access to family, friends, kids. Last year, they did Nothing Else Matters (Metallica) and Chicago heard it. They were invited to be on stage with them Nov 17-18, for their Chicago and Friends Concert in NJ. Before covid, they used to tour, did cruise ships, went places, but once they were housebound, the guys settled - Geoff with Kathy and their son, Layne with 4 girls and his wife Cyndi, Eli with his wife Ashley and brand new baby, Cesar hasn't settled yet. J None- ex member was recruited into the US Navy chorus for his vocal skills for 5 yrs (done 3 almost). They use guest vocalists which give them a lot of flexibility. They have deliberately stayed away from contracts - they do everything themselves, Layne and Tony (ex-baritone in VP) bought a studio and most settings are done there. Their newest is Sleeping in the Cold Below (Warframe) where they rented space (LOL) with huge 4K LED screen to provide the illusion of being in space - it's a Space Shanty.
