I'am sick for about 16 mouth's. You guys help me surprise my boss when I come back. I also have ADHD, learning is difficult by reading, but listening to you will make me a specialist in heat tracing when I come back. So a question I have on my mind, maybe someone can help me answer it. Why do you need a lowest setpoint in a installation? I mean why does a alarm goes off when a installation hits "let's say" 0,1 Ampere. I know you can set this point lower to trick this alarm, but what is the problem when it gets to low??? I don't see why a alarm is needed for such a thing? What is the danger? Is this because the power could flicker on and off maybe? And if this is the case, could it damage the installation because it can create a heat at the connection point of power cable and heat tracing cable? Is my thinking wrong or correct???

Im just a kid but in the plant we use heat tracing it is very cold . around 0F . An alarm would be setup because you would want to know if your heat trace stops working because you want it to be running all the time. if the heat trace stops working then the pipes will start to freeze causing problems. this depends what’s using the heat trace

@@julianmorales4008 Sound scorrect what you telling me. But as long as everything is working correct why do you need a alarm. This alarm tells you that the thermostat has almost reached the point of disconnecting the power. But if the temperature is going done again the power will be put back on. So there will be moments this alarm will keep going on and of till someone is fed up with it and than the disconnect the alarm. So this alarm gets triggered for the wrong reason in my opinion. There should be a delay for this which you can program in your control system. But sti I don't see the point of all this. Seems to me you can better instal something that measures the resistance in different places of the installation, and when it gets below what it should be let a alarm go off. And so there can be other things which makes more sense to trigger a alarm. You need to know if the system works not everytime its shut on and off because of the temperature.

I’m not sure about anyone else, but I clicked on this video because of how short and accessible it was instead of 10 minutes. But very helpful!
