Huh... I didn't get gospel at all. They put 'their' spin on it but it still sounds 80's-ish to me (I grew up in the 80's)

Great reaction. I saw them live this Fall after Bastien was performing with them. Home Free was still great! Plus the Christmas CD they released was fantastic. They are working on new releases, I can’t wait! If you are missing Austin’s twang go check out his newest release with his new band, Defying Gravity from Wicked. Perfect song to lead off a new career with!

Bastion has a little bit of a different voice than Austin,b it he has the high tenor range like Austin. He has a slight cry voice sometimes if it fits the song.I like him and hoping to catch them live this year if they have one within a two hour drive.

Adam Bastien ( Bass like the fish - teen ) Adam B used to substitute for their tenors 2010- 2011 and also was a member of Chris Rupp’s group 7th ave so he has a long history with Hone Free. I think he fits in perfectly 😊 Adam B’s debut video was Something To Talk About ( Bonnie Raitt cover ) Home Free’s new Christmas album Any Kind Of Christmas is fantastic they released they released 7 videos from the album. The Thanksgiving Song Hark ! The Herald Angels Sing Santa Clause Is Coming To Town Your A Mean One Mr Grinch The Greatest Gifts Of All ( Tim original) Let Me Come Home ( Adam Bastien original) Where are You Christmas

You pegged it well, this is a 1992 Vince Gill original. I can understand that if you expected to have Austin on this one it would be a bit of a 'shock' to have Adam Bastien (Bas-TEEN). Bastien has been performing occasionally with HF since long before the Sing Off, in fact, they offered him the spot that Austin ended up taking, and then he joined Chris Rupp's 7th Ave group, so it wasn't too surprising that he was one of the options they looked at when Austin announced he was leaving. His voice is different than Austin's, but he is a really good tenor. The harmonic sound is about the same, but Bastien heavy leads will sound different. The door got a good work out, but think about how many wardrobe changes there must have been!

OMG, this is a cover song! It’s by the great grunge band Soundgarden!! And it was sung by the late great Chris Cornell. This is a beautiful version, but people, please listen to the original, and more of Chris Cornell. His voice was one of the best in rock ‘n’ roll history, and he sadly took his own life, which affected so many, many people
@gawgia317 сағат бұрын
Correct! Cornell will go down as one of the greatest voices ever

This is the first time I’ve heard your reactions, and you did a great job! It’s so wonderful and even calming to hear someone who focuses on the lyrics and not just the music. As a songwriter, if I’m writing alone, I write the lyrics first, and then put them to music. When I’ve written with someone else, they usually send me the melody and I write the words that seem to fit how it’s making me feel. It reminds me of a time, way back when, when my friends and I would get together and pass around a joint and literally analyze the music on albums, because all of the albums in the 70s printed the lyrics! Some of them weren’t straightforward and you had to try to figure out what the writer was trying to say. Those days are gone for most people, but I’m glad you’re not one of them!

Great reaction. I love this song and the video. I think it’s such a beautiful original. On another completely different note. I’ve seen that you’ve done a lot of Alip Ba Ta. I’m wondering why you’ve never done anything by MARCIN. If you’re already aware of him then, never mind. But if you haven’t, you really must check him out. I suggest you go to his channel and just pick whatever interest you. He does everything from classical to metal, rock, hip-hop. Just to name a few. He is actually considered the best percussive finger style guitarist in the world. He’s from Poland and he just turned 24. I’m a new subscriber, hoping that you will not only do more Pentatonix but also check out MARCIN. read from Southern California. 🤗💋🥰

I can help you out there. 'If You Have Ghosts' is a cover of a Roky Erickson song. He was suffering from mental health illnesses when he wrote it - I believe schizophrenia, I am not sure. I think the 'ghosts' were the voices in his head, that kept him company, that is my interpretation of it. Tobias Forge has adopted it as a sort of Ghost (the band) theme, partly because he recognizes that a LOT of his fans/audience are suffering from problems such as loneliness, depression, anxiety... they would often tell him on meet-and-greet sessions. The expression 'If you have Ghost, you have everything' (Ghost singular, the band) is often used by fans to express appreciation for what Tobias has created.

Avi in his red coat and his dads Cowboy hat is just priceless. He got away from his dad coming down the slope and Michael could not catch him. A couple of Christmases ago, the family all returned to this slope and gathered in the same spot. This time, Avi, who like many aunts and uncles Avi spent his time sledding with his beautiful niece, daughter of his sister. His sister said her daughter thinks uncle Avi is everything. I do miss the original PTX with Avi, but am glad he is happy in his solo career.

This is my favorite original Christmas song they do. Next one is Thank You, written by Scott. It's so emotional and beautiful. It really makes me feel the old childhood feelings about Christmas. I loved your reaction. Thank you.

Love the home movies they included in the video! For whatever reason, this song just doesn't get the views it deserves. I've always said that if a mainstream artist had recorded it, it would be a holiday staple, but because it's PTX and a cappella, it'll never be as popular as it should be.

This is a really nice Christmas song. I didn't see where you had done VoicePlay's Zat U Santa Claus (Louis Armstrong did this in 1953). As long as you are at it, check out Geoff's Carol of the Bells like you've never heard it before. It is EPIC. I'll keep my eyes open for those from you! Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays.
