How the f did u get the time cover off without pulling the engine. I have rtv gaskst thats holding my timing chain on. I loosened up the first few bolts on the oil pan but its stuck fast. What if i use flatheads to pry the oil pan slightly?

My condolences to you OIG, passings are never easy. Hang in there as you have and keep on trucking.

Hang in there IG, you and I sing the same song. So much to do and want to do, and not enough time. Be retired and have more time and not as much mulah, ummm. Just keep plugging away at it. I heard you speak of three vehicles, I am up to 4. Last one is just to get around, 91 S10. 3\4 needs a injector pump. Project S10, needs finishing, Red 98 S10 at a shop to get the 2.2 Diesel running. So one day we will get it where we want. Love your candid approach to your projects. See you on the next video.

I just bought a 1991 S10 with the 2.8l . Wouldn't start, but would run good for 2-3 seconds on starting fluid. So fire is good, fuel delivery Not good. Ended up finding no power to fuel pump. No Oil Pressure switch on Oil filter housing. Wires to it totally missing. Ran a switch wire off of fuse box to pump. Had power and still no fuel. Took out fuel pump. Hose between pump and hard fuel pipe Desenegrated. Bought a new fuel pump. Got it started, yeah. Tuneup next day, Plugs, wires, cap, rotor and Coil. Helped but not perfect enough. Have two new injectors coming in today. We will see. Iron girl , just replace remaining items, if everything else is changed out. Trucks this old need new parts. Cheaper than bringing it in. But sometimes, it is best, so you do not go nuts over it.

If that doesnt work. Take off the secondary exhaust flange bolts following both exhaust pipes and remove the cylinder head, exhaust manifold, and portion of exhaust pipe and remove bolts and the nuts with way more clearence. Im working on a 1990 isuzu trooper with a 2.8 same setup as yours. Penny for your thoughts

Someone stated on another video that the Ignition Control Module or ICM that you changed in the distributer were 1 of 2 things that everyone should keep a spare in their glovebox at all times. I can't remember what the other thing was though. I have a 1991 GMC C2500 and will be changing mine next as it has a very low idle on start up and stalls at every stop sign. It also has loss of power and I could only get it up to 46 mph but I think that problem is the catalytic converter is clogged. Once they start to fail the pieces inside start to crumble and can block airflow. It did get all my power back and idle smooth the other day for no reason though. So now I am looking for something that changes from good to bad to good again and the catalytic converter is one of them. Hit a bump and the broken parts on the inside jostle around giving you temporary good airflow again.

Headers are always a great upgrade. Just remember to wear gloves when you wrap the headers, my soul looks like a porcupine from all the headers I've done.

Hi You r my Hero. I have the same truck with all the same issues, all the way down to the rattling leaf, but mine was a cheese wrapper. Almost wrecked thought a Rattlesnake had loaded up. You have helped me tremendously but I started with the part under rotor bug . It ran good but the first bump I hit it would start missing and eventually die, that was a few months ago, so here we are again. Just wanted to say thanks. John Punneo

I am glad this has helped you. I didn't start at the distributor because I had just replaced the whole assembly a couple of months before. This little truck drives me crazy but it so much fun to drive. I hope you can figure out your gremlin, sometimes you end up in circles before you finally find what has been there the whole time. Good luck!

The May event is a swap meet that is held on their club grounds across from the fairgrounds. It is a great time if you are looking for your next project or need parts for a current project. If you are going out expecting to see a lot of neat displays, you would want to go to the August show. Just thought I would pass that information along.
