What would happen if I accidently lied about something on one of the packets? As in, what if I don't remember something correctly or have no knowledge of something that happened that the department finds out about me? Thank you.

I knew I had a perforated eardrum from working on jet engines in the USAF but didn't know if it would be a DQ. I responded to police hq to take an audiogram. I've taken so many of them, that I recognized what they looked for. The volume went from high to low and I had to signal when I heard the tone. However, the technician always looked up for a response after making every adjustment. There came a time I didn't hear a thing but signaled when he looked up. I faked it three times and began to wonder if he realized what I was doing. The 4th time, I didn't raise my finger. He noted this on a clipboard, and I was dismissed. The applicant investigator said a few words about hearing, but I got hired and promoted three times (sgt, Lt, captain) since. The perforated eardrum healed on itself over time.

I like this woukd you do you have you only limit what dont have to answer everything that matters me no care others make million excuses reason me said that start running away an shyt if have to respond to things feeling they dont have to snswets as some privacy rights others are allowed.

I forgot a job I had in between my 10 year current job and my first job I had for 4 years. A lanscaping company, I did not include this on my application.I only worked their for 3 months, it came up on my polygraph. My background investigator is giving me hell for this and something else they found out on the lie detector test which was sex in a car. I did not understand that sex in a car in an empty parking lot in between two delivery trucks meant public sex in a car. I did not include this, and now they think im lying or trying to hide information. Hope all goes well when I have a chance to explain this during my home visit. The moral of the story is to put everything down that happened in the applications, no matter how small or big. They will find it

So what if i admit ive smoked weed for twnety years but quit a year ago and want to be a cop, are they going to let me still be a cop if im hoenst about that? No other drugs besides trying a few things as a teenager but ive smoked my whole life. Is that enough to prevent me from being a cop?

lol I lied my ass off on my poly and passed, my buddy who was truthful the whole time bombed it 🤣 just smile and lie I had a lot to hide but easily controlled my nerves

What if I'm scared of my neighbors knowing I want to be a cop. They don't exactly like cops and I don't want to be a target

These are not accurate predictions of behavior. I worked in my local police department and the mess of people applying and employed as POs was astounding. From alcoholism, horrible temper, narcissistic traits, wife beaters, inappropriate sexual conduct, etc. I have stories for days and days. Then spoke to another friend in a different department and she confirmed the same. What’s going on? This is a travesty. 😢

As other comments have pointed out. It’s fake science for fake intellectuals. Aka sub 700 hour trained losers. Another reason to not respect them.

I failed mine, and the doctor never said it was a psychological test. She said it was a structured interview. Then I went back to her again and she failed me again. Both times, I was in and out in 15 minutes. BTW I passed my polygraph. Eventually, I had to write letters to the Sherrif, and he gave me a chance and hired me. Idk what caused the lady to do that.
