My former employer played some dirty tricks...and with dirty people. New manager, with no managerial background, whose last position was terminated...due to a physical altercation with a fellow employee, wrought with legalities...are you catching my drift? New manager aka street thug, was initially nice enough but soon went on his reign of terror...with me. I was constantly singled out, yelled at nonsensically, and one day...found myself in his office....with FIVE Write-ups....in One Day!!! In conjunction with that bit of fun...I noticed that my position...was being offered on a national work website...for much less per hour...and this...after having just received an annual...and a cost of living raise. I was so confused...and horrified...and saddened. I had never experienced anything quite like this before. At one point, I confided in a friend with an HR Background. I was instructed...to brush up my resume, but to stay put...until they let me go. See, she was familiar...with employment dirty tricks... I was not. To top it all off...I was hit with the nastiest of accusations...one could imagine, and even more so, as a female. At first I thought, how absurd, of course HR will see what a decent human I am, and that that allegation is beneath someone like me. To my SURPRISE...and my dismay...they decided to embrace the allegation, though no formal charge, they kind of smirked when I addressed that at my exit interview, but officially, let me go, citing, that I was a 'poor fit' for the organization. I told them that, Yes...I was a poor fit, and that I was too good to work there, and that I had NEVER been treated so poorly on a job, period! It was ludicrous! I was forced, of course, to apply for Unemployment Benefits. Wouldn't you know, that after I told the truth, my side, to the UB Office, I was believed, 100 percent, and when the company was asked to provide the reason for letting me go?? They sent back a BLANK Page...Indicating to UB...no reasoning! Shoddy people, shoddy business, I tell you. No longer than 3 months after they terrorized, then dumped me.... that location of the shady business....Closed Down. I honestly felt severely traumatized after being fired, and after having some time to process...and reflect on what had just happened to me. My mind was blown. My precious reputation had been smeared, and in all honesty...in the company of my peers, I was the most honorable employee they had. You ask ....if I were so honorable...why not get out of dodge...as soon as I was able? Well, I had intended...to seek employment elsewhere in time, but I had a very important event that had been planned for a year, as well as an immediate health issue that needed to be addressed. There's no doubt, I would have left down the road, but was steadfast, still....in my loyalty, my work ethic, and fulfilling my duties, although having been harrassed for quite some time. What some of us have to endure, just to keep a paycheck coming in, is pretty unfathomable. I wish for that company, and all those involved....Nothing Good!!!

My lead would always yell at me to do 4 different jobs all night long. Then get mad at me because he would pull me away from one job to do another, and I didn't have time to finish the first job. But he would yell at me from 30 plus feet away from me in warehouse. Plus he would harassed me all night everyday of the week he would make short jokes about me because he was over 6 foot tall and as a guy, I am 5'3. Plus they would never demand my co worker to multi task. And lead would allow co worker to dump his personal life problems on me for ten hours a day. From Minnesota, I just quit, without notice. It was also an , At Will, employer

This is bullshit. Employers are not allowed to give performance references to other companies or outside parties. This puts the former company in a vulnerable position of getting sued. At most companies, a former manager can get sued if she/he gives a reference (Good or Bad). Most companies do not check reference. They do an employment and criminal background check, which is way more accurate.

Caitlyn Clark’s employer does not make a profit and instead relies on the subsides from the male counterparts to help pay their salary. I’d argue the men should be the ones upset here, they gotta give a % of the money earned to a group of women nobody watches.

Is it illegal for someone to sign a voluntary contract of employment? Is it illegal for an employer to pay more than minimum wage? Is it illegal for an employee to be able to terminate her contract at any point? Common sense.

Non sense! How much would Google pay for your KZbin channel with 16k viewers vs other KZbin channels with millions of viewers? Would you call that unfair? WNBA and nba are business at the end of the day. If you want wbna players to get paid in equal amount to that of nba, you should go around to recruit more people to buy the wnba products and more viewers. Hope Clark can change that with her popularity.

You described DEI wrong - "Diversity" stands for using skin-color, sex & sexual preference instead of merit for structuring society, which means there are winners and losers based on these categories. "Equity" is the idea that people should be the same and not be able to choose for themselves if that means they can be different from others. "Inclusion" is essentially a warped exclusionary hierarchy of believes that you either support or are not included. A better and more honest way to describe DEI would be how it is implemented: Discrimination, Exclusion & Intolerance

No. Diversity Equity Inclusion are legitimate goals which does not mean affirmative action. Diverse work force in sales, for example, can be more profitable. If you have all color, all ages, you may want to reflect that to make for a diverse work force. Equity may mean hiring a blind person and giving them special equipment and services that permit the blind person to contribute. And you as a seeing person might complain. For example there may be a no pets police, but the blind person may be allowed to bring their dog. You cannot bring your cat to work. If that's the case, you are not being discriminated against because the company wants to ensure equity and give someone who is blind extra help. Inclusion may mean getting various age groups, sexes, etc that are reflective of society. For example, a retailer might hire men for positions as cashiers when typically you will see women in that role. DEI is legitimate. And limited minded people who see only their own as merited need to be challenged if we want a just society. The supreme Court did not end DEI. They said how these universities had implemented it was flawed. And so schools like Harvard will go back to the drawing board and fix their issues is my hope. DEI is hard work to achieve. Schools like UNC that were giving it lip services and not doing the hard work to achieve fair and balance will fold and claim it's against the law. I hope not. But that's my expectation.

@@joeboxter3635No. Joe Biden flat out said he was going to choose a black female as his running mate, automatically disqualifying roughly 90% of the American adult population. This is illegal. We’re now beginning to see how DEI hiring practices can have catastrophic consequences as Vice President Harris will soon put the final nail in the coffin for the Democratic Party.

i got a good one for y'all. An employee work for a call center, If said person has a documented disability that causes them to use the restroom at unforeseen times which could say, cause them to have to disconnect a call abruptly to use the restroom or be away from the phone for an extended amount of time, could they retaliate if you told them AFTER the event occured (example: person 1 disconnected a call and due to high call volume continued to take the calls as he was instructed to do so, didn't tell the supervisor until a couple days later when the supervisor reminded him when asking why the call disconnected, 2 months later this person was given a final warning for this incident and eventually terminated due to it happening again) would this event be considered a retaliation for their FMLA taken leave, which the supervisor never recorded?

You do realize that virtually 80% of everything written in every job description on LinkedIn is a virtual Lie by employers. Employers lie about how much you're going to make, they lie about the nature of the job, they lie about the financial situation of the company, they lie about the amount of days you're going to have off. In my most recent job I can unequivocally say that virtually 90% of everything written in the job description turned out to be an unmitigated lie. Don't expect people to be truthful with you if you are virtually never truthful with them.
