Weird.. B sounded better for the first two chords, A for the third. Could be the nut slots height on Guitar A is too high, or you are pressing too hard or it wasn’t in tune to begin with. Mine has normal frets and sounds so much more in tune. I see the advantage of true temperament frets in the upper region.

The A sound better but it's less in tune if you play the piano you will notice it . But it's so subtle that meh . who care . I also think that a lot of expensive instruments are more collectable than anything else . You don't pay the sound quality not the confort of playing . nothing bad about it if i had the money i would buy every guitar i like unluckily i can't. But After you invest 2000 bucks on guitar you just got all the tech you can ask for . More than that is not justificable for a electric guitar . For a Acoustic if is done with very special wood and construction maybe .. but still ... The actual average player , unknown and that do some gigs time to time don't need 10 000 - 15 000 guitar not even 3 - 5k or true temperament but i would say anyone . You need a good instrument for sure not trashy one but yeh

i like being offtune i think it adds like a bit of dissonant emotion, i leave the bridge on my guitar rlly loose and it flutters the pitch when i just rest my pal on it

the tones are completely different, which makes this a really bad comparison. plus guitar B just sounds meh, guitar A sounds good but the sound is so much thicker and bigger that they aren't really comparable.

Does it work well outside the key of C? I assume certain chords will sound worse?

It works in any key along as you use standard tuning. If you aren't using standard tuning it no longer works. Temperament is different from intonation, the thing is guitars will always have some sharp/flat notes in chords when you just play the frets in straight lines, Temperament moves the frets individually for each string so that they actually match the place each note lands perfectly. This is done in order to make it more like the piano, which more perfectly hits each note unlike normal guitars. So to summarise, yes it works outside of C, BUT you need to be in standard tuning or else the note position will shift, and since you can't dynamically move the frets for each string anything outside of standard will be incorrect. These frets have been perfectly placed for standard tuning on a guitar

listen close, you can hear the dissonance between notes on A (the standard fretted guitar). Its very subtle to most of us, and honestly in the grand scheme of things not really a concern. Where true temperment really shines is every note on the neck is intune in relation to each other. Whereas standard guitars are designed with a compromise- perfect intonation is difficult, sometime impossible to achieve. Again, its minor in application. Ive never owned a TT guitar, and likely never will, unless I come across some money thats just burning a hole in my pocket. EVH used to attempt to achieve this, when he would 'tune the guitar to itself'. He would adjust the tuning per song so each string's notes (the notes played in the song at least) would play nice with each other. He was applying tempered tunings.
