This is a wonderful video, especially the one from Germany. It is just what I am starting here in Spring, Texas. I'm doing it in the keys of A minor and C major. Looking for instruments that work well with those keys. Thank you and Kalani for sharing this with us all. So great full that you all are doing this.

This is really cool, love the Earth tones and all of the different ways to put them together. Sounds fantastic, thanks for sharing.

So help me, this is the best-sounding kalimba I've ever heard! Each tone is resonant and well-balanced (although none of the highest tones were played). I am amazed at how long the tones sound, as well (keeping in mind that there isn't as much mass or length on the high tones, so the duration of the notes will be shorter). Thanks to the KZbin algorithm for sending me here!

That box looks so weak. Hell, I could try better to protect such an expensive instrument. Although its sound is very beautiful, great video!
@WePlayWellTogether5 ай бұрын
No worries- We ship the Kalimba in a sturdy cardboard box to ensure it arrives safely. Inside, you'll find a smaller box specifically for the Kalimba. Plus, we also offer sturdy travel bags for extra protection and convenience.

Thank you Joule - this was very helpful. I try to invest in one special instrument every year. Next year will be the monolina in D, followed by the monolini in A. I'm so excited about this plan!

Did I miss it? Or did the video not show any tunings for the 11-tine kalimba? The description says there are 11-tine variations shown but I didn't see any.

was ist das für ein stab auf den man draufhämmert? ein spezieller oder einfach etwas, das den schlag beim stimmen abfedern soll?
@ericallen94155 ай бұрын
It looks like it's hollowed out, in order to minimize slipping onto another tine and accidentally tuning an adjacent tine. Other than that, I can't tell you exactly what kind of tuning rod that is, as this is my first look at Hokema kalimbas.
@cheerubebayonettaholopaine263811 ай бұрын
i have the exact same instrument. and first i didnt know how to play as it is this special tuning (a moll in german) a minor (?). and not the C tuning as my other instruments. but i found out fast, that no matter what you play, it always sounds great ❤
@WePlayWellTogether9 ай бұрын
Yes it is so freeing to experiment with rhythm and just playing it without being afraid to hit a wrong note.

Hi, I’m wondering if you can be of some assistance helping me find someone to service my Monochord. I live in the San Francisco Bay area in California and have been unsuccessful with finding someone to do some repair and tuning on my Monochord. Specifically, I am in the City of Walnut Creek.
