The Lucite candles are awesome. The candlestick one of them was on did end up damaged. I will chat with you more about it. Great find though and great sale!!😊

The Catholic Missal took me right back to my childhood. We carried our missals to church every Sunday, and it helped us follow the Order of the Mass, especially pre-1962 when the Mass was still said in Latin. The ephemera from the Missal was mostly “holy cards” that were either available in racks located in the church foyer, or given to children for doing well either in regular Catholic School classes or in Sunday School. You got some great stuff in general!

I had a set of those Christmas glasses--got them at Sears back in most likely the 70s. But no longer have--should have kept them I guess.

So sorry for your loss. We lost our mom in April and my sister is executor and she has been dealing with stuff since then and still waiting for everything to be done. Alot of red tape and hurry up and wait. Do what you need to do, you have alot on your plate right now.❤

@@teresasmith533 Sending you a (((Hug))) I don't think anyone really understands what is involved until they are faced with it. It's a lot of work at a time when you really want a break to mourn. I figure I will grow as a person and am trying to embrace the challenge with grace.

I’m sure that tote with the chrismons(sp) were made by women of a particular church. Our church always did and still does this.

Heidi I'm so sorry for your loss. I hadn't heard nothing cause that's when everything was crazy because of the Hurricane Helene hitting Asheville (it's first time ever) & we had no phone service & it just came back on Saturday. The handmade religious themed ornaments and other ornaments that coordinate might have started as Chrismons, which are ornaments specifically made for an Advent/Christmas tree in a church.

One of the things I love about going to the estate sales is getting to see inside cool old homes. My husband, daughters and I got to go to one in a recent video of mine. I have a small collection of wooden spools in my laundry room. I'll have to show them to you sometime. Nice haul. Looks like it was a good estate sale. You flipped through the box of individual sheet music pieces. You went by one for "Evergreen", that was the first song that my first husband and I danced to at our wedding. I had completely forgotten about that. He passed away last year, even after all the years we were apart, losing him broke my heart. Hugs, Joanne

The Fall Flea Market is this Saturday at Antiques at Gresham Lake. Great day to find bargains. The Christmas Open House is November 9th at Collected Treasures. It's a great event with food, door prizes and Steve and I are usually there working to help with all the customers.😊

@@johndiaddorio3165 During the day we had no issues especially with a blowing wind. Might not even have issues at night with wind blowing. We didn't have a strong wind at night so noseeums were an issue at night. Pack some spray in case.

If folks want to help the hurricane victims, I suggest donating to the Red Cross to help those in Western NC. When I went through hurricane Andrew in Miami, the Red Cross was a God send to me and others. The English officer picture and the globe would look great in a Dark Academia room. You picked up the table that I was interested in on the first day of the sale. I learned about including candles in my candlesticks from watching someone else on YT so I really can't take credit for that. I can't wait for the flea market at Gresham this month. Hi Heidi, lots and lots and lots of wonderful goodies !!!! I saw the booth at Gresham Lake on Facebook and it looks so awesome. Loved the Miss Madison sighting. It is really great news to hear that Dixie now has power, that is always so hard to deal with. My daughter lives in Rutherford county and works very often in Lake Lure, I was able to hear from her late Saturday, that area is going to take such a long time to even be close to a new “normal”! Her community is working hard and pulling together, these events usually bring everyone together. Hello to Steve, take care 😊❤

I absolutely love the English officer print - my house decor is very traditional, and he would fit right in. So would the beautiful foyer table. You can use museum wax or museum putty to stick the hurricane glass pieces to the sconces. That might keep the glass pieces from breaking. You found some wonderful pieces!

The workers said the morning was very busy. Put the bent up compass in a baggie with one of the protractors - every school kid back in the Stone Age when I was in school always had to have both. Back in the day, Old Spice men’s products were sold in boxes like the wooden one at Christmas and Father’s Day.
