How many ugga duggas is right? In a few decades we have never torqued any wheel on our semi trucks, just toss the 1” impact on them, tighten them till it pretty much stops moving them, there’s a distinct noise the gun makes when that happens, never had any wheel problems on 5 trucks in 40years.

UPDATE...after 30 years changing wheels I had a near wheel off, the problem is, other factors affect torque and clamping force, they make a valid point but they don't mention rusty studds, refurbished rims with paint runs, out of balance/high runout wheels with no regard for opposing the high spots (duallys)....if you start using a torque multiplier, be aware that the impact wrench, while doing the damage, was also over compensating for alot of other sin, so when you make the switch, get and use the studd brush and retorque/nut checks....you may think you are going by the book when in actuality you are, changing the dynamic...YOU ARE NO LONGER UGGA NUGGA COWBOYS, BUT TIRE/RIM RESERCHERS...

...funny you should say that, I think that the best reason to get the kentool serpent demount, is it helps you figure out how to use the other tools, but I'm going to say, I think this is also a learning tool, and or back up tool...and I will leave with this proverb, "take ten,leave ten "...and maybe another "the secret, is in the sauce "..

Hey WOW man, I found one of these used on Ebay, it was missing the rim scratch protector but my kentool leather one works fine, this tool was almost self explanatory for me that been using the Gaither and TNT-GT, I will say it works fine on 11R22.5, but a bit hard to get started on the 255/70R22.5s....for which I would recommend the ESCO impact driven demounter and the 52 mount bar with 2 bead keepers...

I would grease the threads on that. Also the Air 805-HT puts out 130ft-lbs of torque. I bet that wouldn't struggle.

Anybody know of a place to get commercial tire training like a school
@cameronduff884
@cameronduff884 Жыл бұрын
I don't know if you could call it a school; but there's TIA, Tire Industry Association, which would seem to me to be like ASE, it's really more for your employer to say they told you so, but if you actually do it their way, it's going to slow things down and require some tools and or shop upgrades, notably a inflation cage, remote inflator, a way to shut off the air and a escape route.

Yeah for the agricultural tires already have a quarter pack which works a lot easier cuz it just works out for hydraulics and you don't always have the room on the back to the side of the hub to put a tool that size

What is the major difference between this tool and the ESCO 70160 bead breaker, which is considerably cheaper?
@cameronduff884
@cameronduff884 Жыл бұрын
I own both, this tool is made from thicker stock and has a narrower foot that makes it easier to start, also, it was designed to be used with the impact and doesn't have the hollow roll pins, this tool also has 3 grease fittings, the other tool still will have a use as a 2nd bead pusher for sneaking in a new valve stem.
