Love your enthusiasm and passion for “His Latest Flame”, massive hit for Elvis in ‘61!!! Absolute killing 45 with “Little Sister” on the flip. If you ever get a chance, You really should check out the outtakes of “His Latest Flame”. It went thru this whole evolution from the first take up until the master. Pure genius.

Hey brother, I’m really digging your channel and content. We definitely have some things in common, especially the “audiophile” side of Elvis releases, which is incredibly important to me and also as a purist. Unfortunately, I still do not have this incredible set. My wife was supposed to have bought me the box when it came out for Christmas 2016, but she quietly passed away just 2 weeks before so, I just never got around to getting it. Hopefully, someday. I do have over 250 still sealed Elvis albums, (and many duplicates), 45 rpm singles, ep’s, cassette and 8 track tapes, plus close to 1000 CD’s in my Elvis collection. 😊

Nice video, enjoyed it. I’m actually not that crazy about this “Spanged” mix of the main show, but I think he did a much better job on the “Alternate” concert. The main difference, (between Legacy and FTD), is the newer Legacy (with Blu Ray) is that Vic Anesini remastered the whole set, whereas the FTD was mastered (loud and a bit muddy) by Jan Eliasson. If I need to hear the main concert, I just pull out my 1998 25 Anniversary BMG cd. 😊

Since you mentioned Prince from another planet in this video and your go to, I was curious 😊 So I took time to listen to it, Next I listen to as recorded at madison square garden from FTD boxset and the 2 CD digipack from Sony Legacy. I've come to the conclusion as a musician and also studio experience that Prince Boxset is a little bit wrongly mixed. You hear James a little bit too loud on the wrong channel with headphones. He's on the left while he should be on the right. The brass is way too soft and in middle while the trumpets should be slightly to the left. On FTD and Sony Legacy they are correct mixed. Meaning James on the right (from drums in headphones) horns, brass on the left and both are better in front instead of drowning in the rest. Prince is good but my humble opinion FTD and Sony Legacy digipack 2 CD are better Sound wise. Try it if you can. Think you agree.

@@SpencerCollectsElvis prince is sound wise slightly better punchy as you say, but the instruments are on the wrong spot and brass is buried. FTD is really way better. Money double worth. If you can, grab one. Not to be picky or sounding that I know everything, but those things stand out, you hear it immediately being in the music business for over 35 years. It's clear when listening via closed full ear cover headphones 😊

This is a great Elvis boxset my favorite of all my Elvis boxsets . My favorite period of Elvis music is the Sun years and the early RCA 50's Elvis.

Cool additions. That MRS set is one of the older releases from them and a hard one to get. Good deal on picking that one up. I have all of the MRS cd releases, as well as a few of the LPs. The quality of their releases is on par with FTD and surpasses them in some instances, imho.⚡️

@@sturmgewehr70 its funny really, a fan label putting in more effort than the collectors label packaging wise. even on their soundboard releases MRS uses a hardback cover with a small book. amazing.

It is a great boxset, indeed! Essential, actually. I have this set and the initial FTD set with the large hardback book. If you ever come across the FTD release at a good price, don’t hesitate.⚡️

@@SpencerCollectsElvisUnderstood! As someone who’s been collecting for over 25 years, I remember the very first release from FTD. Lately, they’ve gotten away from their original intentions, pricing many fans out of their releases, which is unfortunate.⚡️

@@sturmgewehr70 agreed. so many things irritate me. the booklets that come with all their 8 inch sets, doesnt even have a binding like the regular label, just staples. the material they use for the booklets and the outer shell is much thinner than the regular label. its shocking really, that a collector label, that costs more money, uses worse material to package their sets.

Some great Elvis finds,,, the MRS boxset you have man that looks so damn cool will get online and see if i can find one in my price range. And the double cd ELVIS BY THE PRELEYS is a good one have it in my collection, the documentary of the same name is excellent also have it in my collection. Was the bootleg concert cd a soundboard or audience recorded?, it looks amazing great packaging. Hope you had great Christmas and a better and safe Happy New Year's 🎉.

Seeing you a lot lately. I have this Prince of another planet, the FTD madison and the Sony Legacy Edition digipack 2 CD of madison. I think FTD is overrated, too expensive and most of all limited which is not an, ode to the fans. Too quickly sold, out, too expensive that many can't buy it. But Sony Legacy does a amazing job and FTD better look out. Sony Legacy gives you just the same if not more, books are way better and more and the sound quality is super. I always say get the Sony Legacy Edition of everything than you are way better off. I do love all my Sony Legacy Edition digipack 2 CD digipacks. So, far I have 11 of them. Couple FTD and lots of boxset's like the 11 CD boxset Live 1969, on Tour, Memphis etc. The 5 cd boxset Memphis, has an amazing show, on it quality wise. Listen to that!

@@SpencerCollectsElvis You mean outtakes etc. Sony Legacy has Elvis Back in Nashville 4 cd and From Elvis in Nashville 4 cd. I like those better than the for example Blue hawaii sessions, how great thou art sessions, His hand in mine sessions which i al have, because those ( sony legacy boxsets)are not 4-7 songs the same in a row, that is just not me. But then again it is all personal preferences.

I have every MRS release on cd starting with the cd single. This set you’re showing is why I always say MRS puts out great product that is on par with and oftentimes surpasses FTD.⚡️

Hi Spencer! I have this box set also and I love it, yet it could've been even better than it is! SONY Music could've (and should've) made this box a 60-album set instead of a 57-album set with 3 "from the vaults" discs. All those "rarity" tracks could've easily been placed as bonus songs on 3 additional albums to the set... "Elvis: A Legendary Performer Volume 1" (1974) ; "Elvis: A Legendary Performer Volume 2" (1976) ; and "Welcome To My World" (1977) ---- Also, I'd love to see SONY Music do a 30-cd box set of Elvis' extended play records... hopefully sometime in 2025 or 2026.

Great video...surprised to hear your least favourite songs King Creole and gi blues on the cds...lol...I do agree Blue Hawaii is the best soundtrack....I love listening to the outtakes from that film....I would have dumped IHATWF and put in Fun in Acapulco...memories from the theatre when I first saw it....when Elvis was singing Cotton Candy land a guy in the audience yelled out..."what in the hell are you doing Elvis !!?" Not one of my favourites due to the storyline....I was in Grade 10 and wanted to go to Seattle SO bad to see Elvis there!!!!!! Victoria to Seattle ferry....wish I could have went...no money!!!!! Lol...too bad the soundtrack for Jailhouse Rock wasn't longer...also Loving you...those are up there....ill think about it and let u know my top 10....don't think I can do 5 😂 Have u ever watched the STAR production dvds...they have some excellent productions of the movie years!!!!!! I have them all...each movie is done up.....really great!!!!!!..I love their Elvis in Concert ones too!!!!!!! 😊

the title tracks tend to be my least favorite😅 jailhouse rock, girl happy, love me tender, loving you, all my least favorite songs of those movies. and fun in acapulco is my least favorite soundtrack of all, but doesnt mean much cause i can listen to anything elvis and have a good time.
