If you're gay and lesbian as well as Mormon, leave the LDS church and join the affirming Community of Christ (RLDS) denomination. God made you gay. Homosexuality is a biological fact and the LDS Mormon denomination refuses to change their vile homophobic teachings to accept gay members & bless same-sex marriages. I'm a gay ex-Pentecostal, no ammount of religion or praying the Gay away will ever work. If you're a gay or lesbian child of God, then get out of homophobic denominations like the LDS. There are plenty denominations and churches that fully welcome and affirm you, these ex-gay concentration camps like this North Star International should be banned and those behind it on death row. Affirmation is a group for Gay Mormons, many of whom attend Community of Christ(RLDS) churches near them.

Can’t help thinking how different Will’s life would have been had he instead found a gay partner he could trust and probably marry. He has chosen instead to bury an important part of himself - essentially to become a eunuch - in order to be accepted by his particular brand of Christianity. My advice - find another brand of Christianity that will accept you 100% - just as you were created. There is absolutely nothing wrong with not only being gay but actively expressing your sexuality rather than considering it sinful.

I find it interesting that you showed the gay people still having straight relationships (since they are believing members of the church they have chosen to not engage in the sin of homosexuality which is wonderful) however, the “trans” people in the video are still dressed up as the opposite sex? Once again the trans people are the privileged class that no one should expect any amount of sacrifice from.

Jesus forgave the sins of the adulterous woman because he knew she was repentant, But God turned Lots wife into a pillar of salt because he knew her heart. God treats people differently based on their heart and actions. If someone is actively mocking God by being open about their sexual deviancy, they will receive Gods judgment (and church action) according to their heart and actions. You seem to be attempting to mislead this person by implying that he can OPENLY practice homosexuality AND be just like any other member in the church. However we must live in this material world and so marriage amd children aren't precluded simply because your experiemce is different. It is very clear how a homogenous society with social/religioue stratification works well in assisting individual men and women to live as individuals, within families and also within their commumities. They can attend the temple for spiritual assistance, as their personal struggles really matter to a personal God and can also see a therapist if necessary. I remember joseph campbell using salt lake as an example where the civic and religious institutions are integrated as the buildings are as tall as eachother in the city. I think Campbell makes a good observation here and personally feel that this integtation of church and state works well. People are in single wards and then married as the church and govt agree and the people also agree that this is the healthiest state to be in. Utah looks like a very healthy state!! Perhaps what the catholic church aimed to be centuries ago.

Watching this as a Jew, I found especially poignant the moment when your champagne bottle shattered to the ground. Shattering glass has deep meaning in our tradition, as we break glass at a wedding as a symbol of life's joy being tempered by sorrow, but also think of the whole world as a place that's broken and which needs us to help put back together. Broken glass is a symbol of renewal. A quote from a website discussing this said, "We humans can have moments where we are 'broken' or even 'shattered.' Like glass we can reform as new beings if need be. So we break glass because it recalls our mortality but also the divine promise of immortality of the soul." That bottle of joy dropping at that moment was deeply symbolic. So sorry that your boyfriend treated you poorly, and it's impressive that, despite the heartbreak and disappointment, you valued yourself enough as someone made in God's image not to make bad decisions in the end. Best of luck to you, and may you find peace and happiness.

The difference between the reprobate and the worthy person is generally that one yielded and the other resisted. It is true that one’s background may make the decision and accomplishment easier or more difficult, but if one is mentally alert, he can still control his future. That is the gospel message-personal responsibility.

@@nickdipaolofan5948 Can you please simplify your response. Does this church think the LGBT people are just being naughty basically?

@@poerava The church used to preach what the Bible says, which is that any form of sex outside of marriage is a sin and that marriage is reserved for a man and woman. Jesus also taught that even to lust after anyone other than your spouse, you have committed sin already. Therefore even homosexual desires are sinful. The LDS prophets taught that all homosexuals were designed by God to be heterosexual and get married to a member of the opposite sex. In fact, they taught that this is required for exaltation (heaven). now in the last decade, the LDS church is backing off on all of this because their prior biblical stance has negatively hurt their revenue and attendance. Which is weird because biblical prophets were willing to be murdered for their teachings, but the current LDS prophets will compromise their values the second it effects their money...... Just the facts.

@@nickdipaolofan5948 So to confirm, you think that it is a virtuous ‘value’ to hold to a belief that an entity that we have no evidence of, created human beings (which we have no evidence of) to only have intimate relationships and sex with the opposite gender (which we have evidence of this not being the case since as far back as we can reference)? Because why? It feels good? Happy to talk about ‘facts’, or more specifically, what we can determine from empirical evidence. You know, the science. (I do agree with you though, every religion changes when they realise their beliefs are harmful and nonsense. I’m sure this religion is no different. That’s not a bad thing for churches to change. Thank goodness they have. We can talk about harmful things taught in religions that have changed for the better. Why do you think a change in the LGBT space would not be good for this church? Are you anti science?

@@poerava I simply explained what the LDS church taught and what they teach now. I never said what my beliefs are. But since it sounds like you are skeptical there is a God no need for me to express my views based on religion. Based on biology, males and females have evolved to procreate through sex between a man and woman. The male organ was clearly designed (or evolved) to be inserted into the female organ. The species can not continue unless males and females continue to procreate through heterosexual activity. Homosexual activity statistically puts a person at a higher risk of STD's. These are all simple facts. Do I care what individuals do in their private lives? Nope, have a ball. People do risky or unproductive behavior all the time. To each their own.

Many people who transition regret it. The dysphoria seems more common in bipolar people. There may be a link based on the literature. I totally know how hard it is but God will sort it out later

I have been through the same thing with an ex husband. The feelings never have gone away for him. We tried to compromise too but it made the dysphoria worse to feed it. We divorced after 10 years. It affects everything in a marriage. I feel sorry for those who have this burden.

The teachings of the lds church cause a lot of pain for gay members. Brigham Young himself condoned castrations for gay members. Jeffrey R. Holland & Dallin H Oaks led BYU and the Psychology department at BYU while it abused gay men with electroshock and aversion therapy. Gay people have been called every name imaginable by church leaders. Currently we're called "serious transgressors" for loving who we love and nurturing our families. I hope Will wakes up to his power, realizes he's enough and already whole, and starts unpacking the baggage the church has unloaded on his shoulders. It isn't his to carry. I doubt the church will ever take responsibility for its long history of terrorizing and manipulating LGBT children and adults. You don't have to accept the names they've called you---abominable, detestable, evil, sinful, confused, unhappy, counterfeit, or serious transgressor. You don't have to live in the churches paradigm. The church has no monopoly on what's holy. No religion does. People are holy. Gay people are holy. Gay people have been on Earth a lot longer than religion. We'll be here long after religion, too.

My 28 years of being a member, both lgbt and lds. I have never experienced this. Stop lying. The church teaches us to love people. We do not promote hate.

Did you ask God to take away that obviously affected prissy voice? Gay men don't REALLY channel Liberace.
