What is interesting is that the Byrds, Beach Boys, etc could go play live the studio version and it will be pretty close to what Carol Kaye, Hal Blaine, etc produced in the studio .

Wrecking crew probably polished a lot of crap into jewels. All musicians need to understand how great these players were/are. Carol Kay is the coolest!

Studio musicians don't get near the credit they deserve, artists like Carol have played on more hits than anybody; you may not know her face but it's a likely bet you've enjoyed her music for years and with that said, Thank You Carol with all sincerity; I hope you keep playing for many more years to come.

There could be a Studio Musician's Hall of Fame someday, right? I hear you about the Bass Guitar...I've always been able to play everything I pick up but only discovered the Bass 2 years ago and it is the most fun of all the instruments, including orchestral. Drums is a close second.

I watched a short documentary about the making of "Good Vibrations". Brian Wilson talked to her for 10 seconds and she pulled the whole opening bass riff out of her ass in like 2 minues. There's a reason a lot of bands use studio musicians instead of their own band members for recording. Studio musicians are the best musicians. "The Wrecking Crew" is legendary and it was stacked with with some of the best musicians in history. Carol Kaye being one of them. (EDIT: Carol Kaye uses the same bass line in all of the verse for GV.)

Unfortunately this lady's outlook is everything that is wrong in music, in fact she sounds like a union rep. America, try to separate your gluttony for gold from art... moot request, that ship sailed a couple of centuries ago.
