All I've starting scouting so far is O-Linemen. In time, I'll continue next with CB, Safety and Edge Rushers. I truly believe we have to go heavy on the O-Line next year with Robinson, Little, and Scherff all likely in their last seasons for us and our depth being very poor. As far as WR, I really like Tory Horton. I believe Tetairoa McMillan will end up being a top 5 pick. That guy is ridiculously good. Personally, I live in Ohio and watch all the Buckeyes games. I have never been a fan of Emeka Egbuka. He's just so inconsistent and he plays lazy at times.

I could definitely see a team going all-in on McMillan if he has another great season. He's just not my style of receiver personally but I can respect how good he is at what he does. I'm working on o-line right now as well.

@@cardiacatsbrand To me, McMillan is more like a Rome Odunze type. Huge catch radius, sure hands and a very good route runner. He’s not flashy, but he’s unstoppable when he gets momentum. Personally, Odunze was my favorite receiver in the last draft. As you are doing O-Linemen, let me know what you think of LT Wyatt Milum of West Virginia and Center Parker Brailsford formerly of Washington, now playing for Alabama. I believe Milum is flying completely under most people’s radars.

Last year especially I saw so many teams making trades and they weren't giving up that much to move up and bulky said that they couldn't Make a trade to move up The jaguars tried. My only problem with this pick is that I believe Jones is a much better NB than he is an outside CB and my main concern is depth behind Ronald Darby. With that said, I really liked the pick, because I had Jones as the top rated Nickle in the draft. I think he will eventually be the starting Nickle corner and I think he will be a lock down player at the position. On the other hand, if Darby does get hurt, I see a bunch of "meh" type players backing him up. They mostly consist of guys who are either pretty un-athletic or guys who are athletic, but were pretty "ho-hum" in coverage. I'm just not sold on Deantre Prince either. He was pretty average in college. I was just wondering, you mentioned you started scouting OT's for 2025 and you really like a player not ranked very highly by PFF. I find myself in the same position. Who is the player you like? The player I am very high on is West Virginia OT Wyatt Milum. This guy does everything well and looks great in games. He only gave up 9 hurries, 0 hits and 0 sacks in 337 pass block sets last season and hasn't given up a sack since moving to LT as a Sophomore. He's currently my top rated OT, followed by Will Campbell of LSU, Kelvin Banks Jr. of Texas and Ajani Cornelius of Oregon.

The point regarding Jones and Savage doesn't sound crazy at all. You almost always overpay in free agency, so you bring in a guy for 2-3 years and draft his potential replacement so you can save that cap space down the line. They did exactly that with Rayshawn Jenkins recently for example, it's smart roster building strategy. Where did you end up ranking TJ Tampa and Khyree Jackson? Those are the two CBs I was eyeing up ahead of Jones in the 3rd round...

Baalke is always going after prospects in the draft, and seems allergic to the idea of taking the 'consensus pick'. Instead he locks in to players he's fallen in love with and ignores the players that have fallen to him. When you find a used car sitting on blocks with a great engine that just needs calibrating, you don't pay 2024 sticker price for it. What's the point in seeing untapped value, when you're going to burn a 2nd round pick on it? He did the same thing last year with Strange; a 'blocking' TE that won't get a 2nd contract from us.

Maason Smith has an extremely high ceiling. My only issue with the pick is that I still believe he was taken a round too high and my biggest issue was that we had much bigger needs at CB and interior O-Line. Personally, I believe we would have been much better off taking an outside CB like Renardo Green with our second round pick. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE Jarrian Jones and I am super happy that we drafted him, but I see him as a Nickle CB only. My area of concern with the CB position is, can Ronald Darby stay healthy? I don't like our depth at outside CB. I was very high on Renardo Green for that position. Back to Maason Smith. I love his potential as a pass rushing inside presence. I think he CAN be a good inside run-stuffer, but he has a lot of work to do in that area. He also seems to play "lazy" at times, which frankly, concerns me. Me personally, I would not have even considered taking a DT at this spot. I really liked Jer'Zhan Newton, but I didn't even consider trading up to get him and as I stated before, I really dislike Michael Hall Jr. I consider him one of the most overrated players in this draft. As for Jenkins, I see no upside in his pass rush. It just isn't there. He is excellent against the run, but IMO, he's an undersized NT. I truly believe DaVon Hamilton will return to 100% this year, so I don't see this as being an urgent need. I also like drafting fairly "safe" players in the first 3 rounds of the draft. Smith is a gamble. He's definitely not a "safe" pick. He has a very high ceiling, but a very low floor as well. I just think there were smarter choices to be made at that position, especially when figuring in that some of Smith's issues have to do with keeping him motivated. With that said, I still like this pick way more than what we did taking Jordan Jefferson at pick #116. That selection still angers me. I don't see anything positive about that pick. Jefferson is useless as a pass rusher and despite constantly hearing about how much strength he displayed in the bench press, he is not very good against the run. These are just a couple of reasons why I gave the Jags draft an overall grade of C+, despite giving them an A on day 1 of the draft.

He just simply cost too much for a backup, there was practically no way keeping him would’ve been a net gain.
