I think he was saying that in England the game is much more physical than either Europe or Brasil where the emphasis is more on technical ability. Which makes his game even more outstanding as the brave dive at Dalglish's feet would attest. RIP Petar. Gone but not forgotten.

Phil Parkes I thought was better than Clemence.

He had his own training method called budgies table ,a dinner table wit nae legs ,they'd hammer balls of it from 5 yards away and deflect it to the keeper it was a brutal training regime,the young goalies at hibs said it was brutal ,but innovator ,my hero as a young keeper ,good honest lad from workinton ,I advise anyone wants a fuckin good chuckle ,read his book my hero thanks budgie ,Hibernian FC

One of the amazing things: back in those days english was not a worldwide language as it is today, so i doubt Borota got in touch with English before coming to England. Total stereotype (in positive way) of goalkeepers being eccentrics... made lot of great saves, conceded many stupid goals, looked like a neaderthal, started painting... amazing man. R. I. P. Petar Borota, pop culture icon of Belgrade and London.

Best keeper in my 5 decades following West Ham.His performance at West Brom in Jan 1980 in the FA Cup 3rd round was just brilliant.So sad TV didn't cover it back then.A true masterclass.
