This was so incredibly and super eerily aligned with exactly what I'm going through. I want to thank you for your description of hope as being a potential negative. Most perspectives I encounter consider hope solely as a positive, and I kind of always felt there was somethimg about hope that could be negative. The analogy of being a big moss covered stone was also quite apt for me right now. I'm not in a toxic relationship. This made me cry anyways. I have incredibly strong feelings for someone who is emotionally unavailable and is very open about that fact. They like being alone and having that freedom. Every time they give me any kind of attention I absolutely soar and it has been rough for me to try and separate myself from the thrill of it.
