40:20 you were in temporary furiten because toimen discarded a 9, which was one of your winning tiles. it would give you no yaku so you couldn't ron him.

Oh I see. So because it was not possible to call the 9 pin, because I didn't have a yaku, the game treats it as if I had passed it and gives me the temporary furiten. That's very interesting. I'll have to try and remember that going forward since it may cause trouble if I'm not careful, haha. Thanks!

9:15 Correction: If you Riichi AND you skip out on a Ron, you are in permanent furiten for the rest of the round. This is to discourage players from targeting specific a player with Ron. If they are in Tenpai without a Riichi and they skip on a Ron, then the furiten lasts until it goes back to their turn because their hand could change. Great video btw!

Ah okay. I didn't realize that was a Riichi specific thing. I thought that I'd skipped a player I could have Ron'd in a game before and remembered that the next round of tile draws the furiten went away, but I didn't realize that Riichi gives the permanent state instead. Good to know!

At first I played East, but I never got Ron and I was always calling hands, my Call rate went up to 50% :S Then I changed to South because even when I called I could sometimes recover and get 3rd or second at best lmao

I still play a mix of East and South (usually based on how much time I have that day). South is fun, but man, coming in last there gives such a heavy hit to rank points. Haha.

It's great to find you. I believe we played together the other day. I started learning to play a month ago and I managed to become an adept as well. I only remember your name because most of them are in ideograms and I can't even read the names, but I can remember the more Western names. It's great to see someone at our level play. I've seen some very advanced people out there but I can't even understand the moves

Oh nice! Glad to have you stop by! We may have played then. Do you have the same name on there as here? I'm pretty bad at remembering names tbh. ^^; But yeah, I've seen a few others post videos but they do tend to talk about strategy that's a bit above my level I think, haha. Hopefully we'll get there one day. xD

I will probably do some more here and there. I have a lot of fun with it, even if I'm not the best at it, haha.

Excuse me, do u know which npc that explains vanilla looks resembling chicory? Fandom and some other sources said so but I've never found anything like that.. This has bugged me for days man, any help is appreciated..

To be honest, I don't recall any specific NPC actually saying that Vanilla and Chicory look similar (though it could be one I never spoke to or hidden in a different dialogue choice). What they might be referring to is that (Spoilers) Vanilla has Mallow's pendant/amulet and many of the characters recognize it. This pendant also leads to Vanilla being mistaken for Mallow at one point, and Mallow is directly involved with an incident with Chicory and hasn't been seen by the main cast in quite some time. That's the only link I can think of that has to do with Chicory and Vanilla. There could be dialogue that I had missed or forgotten, since both Vanilla and Dandelion look a bit similar (though I don't believe Chicory was ever shown) with blonde hair it's not unlikely a character might have commented on it, but that's about as much as I can think of off the top of my head.
