[Verse 1] They wrap me up for comfort When behind my back they stab Little old man creeping up again I'd like to smack him up side his head (Romans 6:6) [Pre-Chorus 1] I don't need you, I don't care What you say takes me nowhere [Chorus] Pony wants to ride, supposed to ride him Eating from the cat bowl on the outside looking in Intoxicating fragrance filling up my nose Where it stops nobody knows I beat my chest I beat my chest (Luke 18:13) [Verse 2] Words come out so easily But I can't even show it (Matthew 21:28-31) Is a sin really sin When I don't even know it? (Luke 12:48) [Pre-Chorus 2] Free Set my heart free (Romans 8:2) Break, break the chain that's over me (Galatians 5:1) [Chorus] Pony wants to ride, supposed to ride him Eating from the cat bowl on the outside looking in Intoxicating fragrance filling up my nose Where it stops nobody knows I beat my chest I beat my chest I beat my chest I beat my chest [Break] It hurts so bad [Verse 3] Why do I do the things I don't want to (Romans 7:15) Who will save me from this death (Romans 7:24) Thanks be to God It's Jesus (Romans 7:25)

great album... Dennis said he wrote this album to fill out his contract for the label.. he said (i believe..could be wrong) that it was not his favorite.. but just did it to fulfill his contract. Probably why theres only 8 songs on there. Regardless, its great music from a master songwriter and player. I love this album

Epic song. I listened to this album countless times as a confused schoolboy trying to follow Jesus back in the 90's. This music (and the music of a couple of other great bands) kept me encouraged whilst going through quite a turbulent time in my life!

Gotta Let Go Yeah. Here I come, Here I go. I know I need to get on my knees, You know I've been so lazy, lazy, Been running, doing just as I please, You know, it gets so crazy, crazy. No more messing around, No more chasing all over town, I know where I should be found, Down on my knees, I'm beginning to see... That I gotta let go, Gotta let go of the things that I hold, Gotta let got, whoa, Gotta let go all life long. I know that when I'm away from you things can get so hazy, hazy, I can tell just but the things that I do...and I don't mean maybe, maybe. No time for messing around, No more of me playing the clown, I know I'm gonna be found, Down on my knees, I'm beginning to see... That I gotta let go, Gotta let go of the things that I hold, Gotta let got, whoa, Gotta let go all life long. All life long. The time's a-wasting, with things to be had, Times are changing, and they're looking so bad, No refuge if I'm on my own, but I got a place that I can call home. I'm going home. Ooh, yeah, Oh. Yeah. I'm loving spending all this time with you, You make everything alright, alright, No more of me playing the fool, I'm gonna fight the good fight, good fight. I'm finished messing around, Breaking the chains that kept me so bound, You know where I can be found, Down on my knees, I'm beginning to see... That I gotta let go, whoa, Gotta let go of the things that I hold, Gotta let got, whoa, Gotta let go all life...all life...all life long.

Even now in the 2000s and 2010s we have even more Christian bands then back in the 70s and 80s . Now we have red , demon hunter, skillet , disciple , pilliar , fit for a king , for today, enoch , gwen stacy ( even though they disbanded ), war of ages , darkness divided, and bands like a plea for purging (which has disbanded ) and theres a Christian metal band ik of called saving grace . And august burns red .
