I've never done ribbon fiber, but it looks easy enough. Done lots of single mode and multi mode. Loose tube amd tight buffer. Corrugated and Direct burial. We do more copper than anything. But love f I ber work.

We have a problem with the ST connector, when we divide the kevlar on to the threaded part and lock it with the boot the fiber inside of the connector is breaking easy when preasure is applied due to the connection in the boot beeing to dumb. Is there something that we need to change or think of when making this connection?

I have replaced the electrodes and checked all possible solutions, including updating the firmware, but the error persists. Thanks 🙏 What was left unknown for me from the description on AFLs site was weather or not I needed a dedicated proprietary crimping tool like the unicams require (or did require, their literature is also somewhat lacking). Im not a pro, im an alarm guy who keeps getting fiber requests and im just trying to keep up with the times and this seems like a rock solid connector since it seems to be what Cox and AT&T use atleast in my market.

What is the best way to remove the foam off the fiber? I ran into a situation where i didnt have anymore room for my fiber drop because each one was in its own separate foam and ziptied. So i tried my best to pry it open but almost came close to ripping the fiber drop in half.

The plastic tab with the color code on it breaks. The little locking tab is junk. How do we oder the replacement tabs? I now have 2 that are useless and at $170+ for a piece of plastic this is getting stupid. No we are not using it wrong. I have now seen 4 total that need the folding replacement locking tab because of this defect.

So what do you do with the clear tube? Or the little black tube?
