I have no idea what this does, but consider me sold.

A power plant in the southeastern USA used Eddyfi’s Lyft system for CUI on some steam piping. It paid for itself (and then some) eliminating the need for costly scaffolding and insulation removal (and reinstallation).

Sir can you i ask? Can you please help me the formula of NEAR FIELD TUBE TESTING DEPTH PENETRATION? THANKS
@EddyfiTechnologies Жыл бұрын
NFT is a technique that is used for the detection of surface-breaking defects (that is, ID defects in a tube). As the depth of penetration of eddy currents decreases with the permeability of the material, and that the permeability of ferromagnetic carbon steel to which NFT is applied is very high compared to non-ferromagnetic materials, depth of penetration is very low, likely in the tenths of millimeter. So although there might be amplitude difference between defects of similar size but different depths, or some low detectability for defects that are big and almost surface breaking, NFT would have very limited capacities in those situations and is used to detect surface breaking defects.
