This was exactly the video that I needed. I hate Planet Fitness but I'm locked in at $10 a month. I thought my gains were going to suffer, and they still will, but for overcrowding, and not through shitty technique.

Thank you for this informative and easy to follow video. I've recently joined up to Planet Fitness and as someone who hasn't stepped foot in a gym for 8+ years I felt out of my depth. The rig equipment will be my main focus, as well as cardio, as calisthenics is my priority. I certainly feel that i'll be less intimidated to explore the rig equipment at my next visit to PF.

My PF here in Woodstock, GA just got a major upgrade with all new strength training machines, new lat/cable stations, new smith machines, new benches free weights, a huge training tower that has 5 pull up bars, monkey bars, a cable station, ropes etc. MGR say they are getting the hack squat, plate loaded bench and seated calf raise soon. Basically everything is brand new and upgrades except the cardio equipment.

Thanks Kev for familiarizing me with the gym as you have. I went just before the Holiday for my first visit and was a bit overwhelmed with all the machines but now I can go back this week and follow your guidance and be confident that I will get a great workout and continue the process until I meet my goals. This is for "Light Therapy" not intended for "Sun Tan" ... You won't be burning the skin with "Red Light"

@@mrshammer9293 Yup, I just tried this at my nearest Planet Fitness... There are 2 Rooms "Total Body" and "Tanning" ... Thankfully they didn't charge me for the eye stickers to protect my eyes from the bright lights 😅🙏

Thank you for all the help i just got a gym membership not cause the new year cause the weather. I walked in and started running 5ks. I legit like to run. I will say didnt start running i got sick got sober then did it thr right way. 2yrs sober.🎉

never really understood why pf brands itself as judgment free so much, everyone I know that's trained there either doesn't care or finds it annoying. People train at pf because its cheap I think if they marketed that aspect more aggressively they'd get more success imo

What if chest press machine's weight settings are either too light or too heavy? Use the light wt setting and double the reps?? Heavy would be maybe 3 reps and then fail; cannot keep form. Which? Or switch from machine to what?? Thanks!

I love all your videos and they have been such a great help! Have you ever considered doing a series on people with mobility issues? How can they exercise at planet fitness. I have problems with my legs and I need to strengthen them, but you have to be able to move your legs to get into all these machines and stuff. How do you work around it?

My planet fitness standing calf raise machine is different. You have to add weight plates on it and i could figure out how to adjust the height on it today. Never used it before because it’s a new machine

You’re the best on KZbin! You cover all the extensive information but in a way that doesn’t over complicate or confuse things. Straight forward, simple, to the point, and mostly (we disagree on nutrition but that’s ok) scientifically accurate and up to date. Thanks, Kev. It's so funny seeing this video today. I just started at PF in middle of November 2024, and this pretty much my exact upper body workout routine except I do two bicep and triceps' machines and add in the fly/rear deltoids machine. I use lighter weights and tend to do 15-25 reps. Really enjoying your videos.

Mine just got some of these new machines. We got the hack squat, the horizontal bench press, we got a seated calf raise machine, and additional plates which we needed. I can see why my gym passed on the hip thrust machine, people are pretty used to doing them in the four Smith machines that we have.

I hate their hack squat….the angle is too high it hurts my knees…..The one at Crunch Gym is better its at a lower angle and way more comfortable
