Near the end of this video. Crown were playing Smile when you can spot a drone flying. It was perfect in their flying patten. Was this a DCI drone or Carolina Crown?

Blue Stars sounded great from that mello line to the contras and that sop line was dead on. They owned that song. There is room for more than one great hornline at DCI. Blue Stars brass are always one to check out at the lots. Thank you for watching.

I've always loved the writing style of the Stars. Specifically their use of Unison parts between sections, especially in the segment from their closer at 2:33. I love seeing the Blue Stars. Always such a talented corps. Thank you for the footage and audio!

For the last several years this brassline has continued to impress me. One of the best hornline to project their power in DCI today. You can be in the last row of the stadium and you don't really don't miss much from this hornline. Every corps in DCI try to do this.

Phantom's hornline kicked ass that night. The Blue Stars brass were right there also. One of my favorite years doing this channel. About the blurry shots coming and going. I was trying to use auto- focus since I couldn't see either. Eventually I switched to manual focus and did my best. I might want to bring my reading glasses next time. Thank you for watching. A few more videos will come out during the winter. It looks like just Allentown for my brother and I next year. Next year Bostons goes out to California. Cadets are gone. Maybe Spartans will have a show in July. Anyways, I hope everyone has great auditions. Good luck. Have fun

You are welcome, I always appreciate hearing from corps members and the fans of those corps.. If they don't like it will be easy to tell. I was looking forward to hearing your corps in person, all season long. Colts always seem to have a entertaining show. You can't go wrong with the music you played this year. Very impressive hornline like always. We didn't have any shows close to where I live this season. August 2nd in Allentown was my only show I was able to see in person. At 2:40 the drum major takes out her phone and starts recording. The instructor wearing 56 gets into position. You know something good is about to happen. The biggest shock of this weekend for me wow. I haven't heard this sound in decades. It was so old school I believe that's why so many people love that sound from this hornline, including me.

This first song they did. I was in-between Sacramento's horn line and their drum major. That's why it's one of my favorites. This mic works so much better when you can get this close. Most of the time I'm trying not to get in the way as they get ready. Tonight's corps seemed very laid back .No pressure just go out and entertain. Mandarins didn't seem to mind at all that I was there recording. Thank You !

You'll notice the feet right at the end of the clip are all off... that last note was way longer than usual, and so none of us knew where beat one was in the back. It was the scariest 24 counts during a show of my life back there. We were about to start running at 220 bpm and no one knew where "1" was! lol I don't know what happened, but we didn't die! 😀

I accidentally found this. At Allentown, the Mandarins' support bus late, but didn't stay when we found out it would only be a standstill performance. (Went back to prepare food for the Corps). So glad to see what we missed.

As a PR Alum, I feel like I have earned the right to comment that; the DCI Road is littered with fine drum corps' who are no longer in existence - their demise caused by the worst of decision makers, who were the "adults" on the Board of Directors for these units. Those very people were absolutely confident in their arrogance and stupidity. Anaheim Kingsmen, Star of Indiana, Cadets, the SCV debacle, Bridgemen, 27th, Guardsmen, Freelancers, Otobikoke, Seneca Optimists, Commodores, Kilts, Argonne, Des Plains, Muchachos, Delasalle, Purple Lancers, Royal Crusaders, North Star, Sky Ryders, VK, Dutch Boy, Suncoast, Magic Orlando....it is beyond belief. Losing the Cadets has been the hardest one for me - I LOVED CADETS and miss them daily. The Regiment did 2 moves in the 2024 show to honor the Cadets. YOU WILL NEVER BE FORGOTTEN BY THOSE WHO WITNESSED THE MAGIC. I got to see the Garfield Cadets at the FIRST show I ever attended in 1977 in Martin, TN.
