Having never played this is it not more advantageous to make one large grain farm. I get having multiple buildings just curious on game mechanics?

Great question! I think the game likes having multiple buildings. That said, the buildings should be as large as they can be to maximize how effective they are. Also, having multiple buildings can help with traffic flow since one site isn't getting overrun with all the trucks and stuff.
