Great review, ladies. I love that you guys didn't spoil anything. I, too, started this series mainly for Zhang Wanyi. He was amazing as Cang Xuan in Lost You Forever, so I wanted to see more of him, but in a role where he gets the girl. So far, the show Rise of Ning is okay. I'm only at episode 5 and he's barely in it at all. But there was a scene between him and the FL where they were kneeling together in punishment. Just the way he was looked at her while she was asleep, is making me want to continue the series. Anyway, since you guys watched this show for Zhang Wanyi, how is he in it? Would you say his scenes make it worth it for fans like me who came here because of Lost You Forever?

I really enjoyed this drama until around episode 29. I liked the maturity of the relationships and Pan'er and Gu. But then the trope of "I can't be with her because my father ruined her life" struck. His choosing to avoid her instead of talking with her about it felt out of character for Gu. Her reaction to him ghosting her made sense due to her past experience. Having them breakup because she needed space to process what his father did would have been more in keeping with their relationship. The trope really took me out of the show. In fairness, what also decreased my enjoyment of the drama were the characters who were more there for comic relief and plot convenience could sometimes be fairly annoying. I did enjoy the side stories, the journeys of Pan'er's friends. Their stories added depth and heart to the drama. While I'm not sure I'd rewatch the whole series again, I rewatch my favorite parts. It's beautifully shot and the actors were perfect for their roles (and the chemistry!). I only made it through the whole series because of Cyn Lynn's recap and review.

It's one of worst drama, animation was ok. In drama sinking part is very low quality work. Drama look like made 20 years ago. I was watching it since japan is really sinking now. So much natural disasters like earth quake, volcano, storm, made disasters , economic and more. I think drama is so bad quality it missed week. I thought it was weekly on Netflix...
