U dont need to cook that high 165 to 160 is all u need Thats the exact perfect temp to cook the sausage at the right temperature 300 is to much and will not actually cook good on some food do to the higher then cooked temperature So when u cook over the temptation it takes to cook it food becomes different and not pleasing to others

I've got all the ingredients together and will cook a pot tomorrow morning. While it's cooking, I'll make some cornbread to go with it. RB&R isn't just another recipe. It's part of our family traditions and culture. Our cuisine is a big part of our heritage, and it's fun to share.

I thought this was beans and rice.... where'd the sausage come from?
@CookingWithTheCajun3 ай бұрын
Great question! While traditional red beans and rice primarily features the beans and rice, the addition of sausage is a common twist in New Orleans cuisine. It brings extra flavor and heartiness to the dish. Historically, it was often made with leftover meats, and sausage became a staple for its rich taste. So, while beans and rice are the base, the sausage adds that authentic New Orleans flair! Have a great day, Cajun.

Great How-To video! If any viewer hasn't had a fried soft shell crab they are sure missing out, I guarantee! You have an authentic N'awlins cooking style.....just need the beer to drink !! Anyone who hasn't had an egg not cooperate after being cracked hasn't done much cooking !! I like Crystal Hot Sauce the best. It's made by Baumer Foods Inc. who moved production from New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina in 2005 upriver to Reserve, Louisiana. Their headquarters is in Metairie, LA. They make many other sauces as well such as Soy, Teriyaki, Worcestershire, etc. that you may want to try out in some of your videos as lagniappe to the viewers.

Nothing personal but you had your oil way too hot for the sausage. It doesnt look particularly good,more like borderline burnt.

Anyone who comes across this throw the grits away and make your own. These smell and taste like literal vomit. I’m not a troll and I’m not trying to mess with anyone. I forgot this and made them last night and as soon as the grits start cooking: vomit smell. I would’ve swore they contained butyric acid but they don’t so idk why they smell and taste this way but gross. The shrimp mix with Worcestershire sauce is delish tho, just put it on your own grits.
