Turn down it down to 720><1080 it won’t overheat if u do that..and also don’t put an sd card in the slot..get you an ssd card for the back of it.

I am not really a gamer but something about the asus rog ally intrigued me. I bought the z1 version open box for $339. I figured out how to configure it. Now I am seeing the Z1 extreme version can be bought for $485. Is it worth it (at my level to pay an extra $146 for the extreme model. When I buy something, I am usually a long term keeper.

also their is a power setting to make the ally into hybrid mode instead of sleep mode it fully sleep off the system turning the whole system off u turn it on and boots up the system

I had one. It fried my micro sd card so I sold it and got a legion go. Might get another one but I don't think asus has fix the problem.

My SD card has been fine so far, but it’s not even a month old yet. I don’t know how long it usually takes to kill the SD card. Legion Go is nice but I don’t like the audio.

@DNMEBOY I find the audio to be decent on the legion . Especially after I tweaked the drivers . The audio is almost as good as the ally now. Updates have been made and the speakers sound a lot better than they use to.

Nice review. I have mines about 4 months now took me away to get use to get lol now I got to upgrade my SSD harddrive. I need more storage lol one more thing I’m interesting buying a case & bumper case like the one you have but I need to find out where you got yours from.

Thank you! 💜 Yes the controls took me a minute to get used to but once you get the hang of it it's worth having. I got my bumper case from Best Buy as well as my travel case. I'll eventually get a screen protector from amazon

@@ashleyshrae Reviewers who test both devices say that the Intel Chip is not as fast as the AMD Ryzen Extreme in the ROG Ally. I might just wait for the ROG Ally 2 to be released instead. If I'm spending big bucks on something like this it has to be worth it. And we need ASUS to fix that overheating SD card issue and release the next version in colors like Pink, Purple, Light Blue and Black. I might just call them up and ask for this lol 💜

Literally learned the hard way. I had my jsaux cover on with the charger plugged in so it wouldn't die. It woke up and ran for hours. It was burning hot and smelled terrible. Turned it off and left it for a day and it seems to be fine

theres a lot you dont know about the Rog ally you can get more Hours to play if you run it at 10watt depending on the load of the game. if its a big CPU or GPU load. you be able to get 60fps on 10w if its not a big CPU GPU Hog. and the reason why your ally is getting hot when in your bag the ally is a windows pc so win dont really put your device in sleep mod the fans will stop running but if any button is hitt or press the ally will wake so do to that and the ally being in your bag yes it will over heat. best way fix this is getting a case made for the Rog ally which you can get from a company named Jsuax. if you need any help with cooling mods cases how-to just let me know my channel has playlist on what you need to know about your ally
