They used to be just one solid grey color but they didn't look quite as realistic as I wanted them to look. I added the other blocks as texture and to add a more worn look.

I was thinking about building that one when I first saw it, but I don't really like adding really unique buildings that exist irl into my city. I tend to stick to lesser known buildings or just my own designs for my builds. I'm also actually almost out of room in the downtown area for a skyscraper of that size. I've only got about 3-5 city blocks left before downtown is "complete". Thanks for the question though :D

Thanks! I actually used the Woolworth building as my main inspiration for this one. I just changed it up a bit as I built higher. It really does look like the City Investing Building near the top though.

Thanks! I try to keep most of my builds to 1.5:1, but some builds are probably smaller or bigger depending on when I built them. I didn't really follow a scale when I first started, so some of the older builds are a little different from my newer stuff.

Thanks :D The only mods I use are World Edit, Chocapic13's Shaders, Xaero's Mini Map/World Map, and Replay Mod. Everything else is just vanilla Minecraft.

Yep! It hides that there's no interior better than just one layer of glass, and it also adds a more reflective effect with the shaders that I use.

So, when I first started building it, it was called "Puff City (2019)". I would name all my Minecraft cities that since 2012, just changing out the date. Around mid 2020 I wanted a more realistic name for the city. I wanted something that sounded nice and calming, and I love New York City, so New Serenity was born.

@@PuffWithHam Wow, so you've also been building since the beginning! I haven't met many other people who have been doing city builds consistently since the early days of the game. Do any of your older builds still exist?

​@@ayuhwulf9709 Yep! I started my first city world just a few months after buying the game back in 2012. It's quality obviously does not hold up, but it still has it's charm and it was good to 14 year old me xD I then started a new singleplayer city in 2015 that only lasted probably about 8 months. I've still got all my old singleplayer city worlds, but around 2016-2018 a friend and I built a pretty decent city on a server. We never finished it before we got bored and the server shut down, so that one now only exists in screenshots. Shortly after that one was when I started building New Serenity, and I've just been working on it since early 2019.

@@PuffWithHam I love the multiple drafts haha. There's definitely times I wish I had started over 😅 But I'm locked in now lol. How many people do you have working on this current one?

@@ayuhwulf9709 Since the beginning, I've been the only builder of New Serenity. Most of my free time is spent building on the island.

I've learned a bunch of techniques and tips from there. That and hundreds of hours of looking at Google Maps streetview.
