I cried again.

I pursued the “pro” thing until I watched my friends go pro and heard what they had to say about that life. I was one of those guys getting free shirts and boards from sponsors but I decided to focus on my future and let the “sport” take a backseat. I’m grateful I made that decision because it made me never resent skating. Skaters need to get past their ego and narcissistic tendencies. They need to be humble and focus on their craft. Skate with people way better than you and be humble when getting feedback- you will get significantly better if you are humble and live in the moment. Learn from those around you, they are not your competitors.

Honestly I think this guy got lost in the sauce and is realizing being pro isn’t all it’s cracked up to be. I’ve had several local pros crash on my couch or even send them money because they are on a team trip and ran out of money. Very few “professionals” make a living wage. We need to grow these sports so the companies get enough revenue to properly pay the pros.

I agree SKXL is too hard to get a flow and have some fun as session. I love the flick stick set up but I remember playing Skate 1 and being line WTF this is so hard to get used to but then by skate 3 I was a pro lol I love the free flow of skate games it's just more fun.
