This is a video I get back regularly : I'd love to do a precious finish like this one on one of my 衬衫 creations. Sadly I do not read japanese at all. Do you have a thin silk thread reference I can use to do that on a very thin coton shirt ?
@minorusewsАй бұрын
Thank you for always watching my videos! If you're looking for buttonhole techniques suitable for shirts, I recommend this video. It demonstrates how to add a buttonhole with a hand-stitched finish on both sides. ↓ 'Make a buttonhole by hand sewing. Easy to understand with illustrations.' kzbin.info/www/bejne/iau9fWx5nLhjjtk As for tips on making a buttonhole with silk thread on thin cotton fabric, it can be hard to know without actually trying it. However, I think it's important to apply interfacing on the back, sew evenly, and cut carefully. Also, since you're using thin thread, consider using a longer length of thread. I hope this helps!
Great video! Thank you so much. :) I will be using your video as a guide to sew two buttonholes to tighten up the straps on a sundress. I love that this is set to music, it makes it easier for me to focus on what you’re doing!!

I'm glad you found it helpful! Since it's still hot, a sundress is a great choice. It makes me want to make some clothes too!

As a short person who loves the look of their wide-leg pants puddling on the floor but is forced to hem them in order to walk around, this video is absolutely mind-blowing!!! I am so excited to do this with my new trousers. I am usually so sad to have to hem them just above the ground because I like when they're long and slouchy. And I'm always confused which height of shoe to choose when hemming, because it means I must always wear those shoes with those pants! I just bought 3 pairs of fairly expensive wide-leg wool trousers and I am so thrilled to find your solution!!! Your question at the end: Maybe if the crease is falling down too much, you could stitch the fabric panel halfway down as well, leaving slack above and below? This might give you two creases to fall down ☺ but perhaps with some experimenting you could make it appear natural? Maybe I will try this and report back! 😊 I had another idea for this hack- would there be a way to make a "drawstring" mechanism going vertically that could be adjusted? That way the slouching/creasing might have more support. Like if you create a fabric channel vertically (instead of the patch) and used a string/elastic to cinch the back of the pants up? The string could be secured with buttons or even a small toggle. Perhaps you would need two drawstring-channel mechanisms to get a natural slouched look. I am going to try this idea as well- but I would love to see you apply it with your superior skills! Maybe another video idea? I would be so grateful! Thank you!

I’m glad you came up with these ideas! I think the idea of hand-stitching the fabric while creating creases in the hem is excellent. If you can make sure that the hand-stitching thread isn’t visible from the front, the final result will look even better. I’ll start by creating a prototype. Currently, I’m preparing a video titled “How to Avoid Stepping on Wide-Leg Trousers.” Next, I’ll make a video incorporating kristin7762’s idea for creating natural creases in pant hems. Also, the idea of adjusting the hem with a drawstring was something I hadn’t thought of, so it was very helpful! Since this will be my first time trying a drawstring adjustment, I’ll also create a prototype and give it a try. Thank you for your assistance!

I created a pattern using the rub-off technique. Next time, I will use this pattern to make the sleeves wider and shorten the length. ラブオフ (Rub-off technique) という方法で型紙を作りました。次回はこの型紙を使って袖を太くしたり丈を短くします

The horizontal threads are white and refreshing, making it less revealing and not too harsh. It's perfect for adults as well. 横糸が白く爽やかで、肌が見えにくいのでハード過ぎず、大人の方にもおすすめです。
