Hey Tim, I've never done a pier trip in November or December. Is it usually pretty decent?

Depends on the water temp but dec is slow and first have of Nov could be slow thru decent for Sea Mullet, Black Drum and Speckled Trout which could be slow to very good.

@@TimFChavez Well, I think this will be the year to do it. Seaview has become my favorite place. Even when the fish ain't hitting, there's cool people to talk to, the guys in the pier house are always fun and I'm at that age now where the catching part doesn't matter. It's the memories. I was there last Friday and Saturday. A couple of croakers late Friday night. Saturday, I kept catching these alien-looking brown and tan things that had lobster-like legs, full radius side fins. A guy out there told me they were poisonous, so I used leather gloves to get them off. I been fishing the piers on Topsail for many years, and I had never seen those before.

Those are called Sea Robins and they are not poisonous.

I was there fishing a few weeks ago, and there was a hammerhead coming through just about daybreak. It was when the mullets were hitting hard.
