These bells sound like the bells of old St Martins in Cornmarket Worcester.

Sadly Phil passed away in 2020. I am curious what is going to happen to this console? Does anyone know!

When I was a teenager in the 1950's, my Uncle was a minister in Winona, MN, and the Watkins family (Watkins Products) were members of his church. I often visited Mrs. Watkins Elizabethan mansion which had a player pipe organ in the great hall, also connected to a grand piano. One day, her grandson and I rummaged in the organ rolls and played several pieces on the organ and piano. Great fun for a teenage boy!

It’s nice to see an Estey G, there not so common. I own one, but it’s still running on original components, I really need to restore it.

I'm so thankful that the First Baptist Church here in Lumberton allows me to house this instrument since we have no ceilings in our home that would take it without cutting down the pipe top. I wanted it to stay all authentic. Even the hand pump feeders have been restored although I do use the electric motor for recording.

This is an Estey Style G, most likely made between 1921 and 1923; about 100 years ago. Great to see and hear it being appreciated.

The paper label on the inside of the case states that it was built in 1897. I noticed it immediately upon picking it up in Maryland years ago because it was built the year my father was born. That immediately gave me a special tie to this instrument and I've done my best to keep it in top condition. It varies from a standard G in that it has an octave coupler for the swell and the great, not just the great. The Great manual has 2 16' stops, a trumpet and a clarinet rather than the standard 3 8' stops and 1 16'.

The original organ pipes were lost in a fire. So the organ is not the same as it was. The console is the original, though, and has been refurbished.

So great to hear this! I was the tonal finisher for the Heitz Residence Organ back around 2000, working with Justin Hartz and Kevin Daly at the console. It was one of the most interesting voicing jobs I’ve done, also one of the most difficult because the pipework was so close by to the room, that every imperfection was glaringly obvious. Thank you for putting this on KZbin so I could hear it again.

I watched this long ago and loved it then, but had forgotten about it over time. When looking for various recordings for Greensleeves as inspiration for a performance I have coming up in a few weeks. Such a pull on my heart strings to come across this now, just 2 weeks to the day after Harper Tasche passed from this world 😢 😢 😢
